@johnbestwest It doesn't costs taxpayers anything. Estates are now far more mixed and well kept, thanks to leaseholders owning former council housing. What costs money is people on benefits. Does that help you understand

The big drop off in housebuilding occurred from the late 60s until Thatcher. Net migration was low to negative, fertility falling. Housing costs stabilised. Lots of council homes in London were vacant. Then we added 10 million people from 1997, and didn't build homes for them.

If you thought HS2 is expensive, look at what Thatcher's council house sell-off is costing taxpayers every year. But, rather than admit Thatcher got it wrong, the capitalist class are paying people to blame migrants for the housing crisis.

A special message for #FBPE & Long Remainers: - 99% of people never used FoM - 92% of economy not linked to EU - 96% of businesses never trade with EU And it took 10-15% of NHS budget each year as a fee (£500bn in today's money cumulative) with £3.5 trillion in manufacturing GDP cumulative lost (3.5 million jobs gone). We will never rejoin. Hope that helps. #Brexit

@ramonagusta That chart starts in 1980 — when UK was already in EEC — & manufacturing job losses happened across the entire developed world due to automation & globalisation. Germany, France and US all saw the same trend. Blaming “EU membership” for every lost factory job is bad economics.

@ramonagusta “Most people never used FoM” is like saying most people never use Heathrow — the point is the opportunities and economic links it enables. The EU was still our biggest trading partner, and claims we “lost £3.5tn” inside it are pure fantasy economics.

@Barry4EU @ramonagusta You fucking demented imbecile. 🤔 🤣 🤣 It's nothing like using Heathrow. Do you pay the airport billions for them to tell you what to do? You sad cretin! 🤔 🤣 🤣 🤣

We're seeing huge numbers of people being punished for criticising Islam or Muslim cultural practices at @SpeechUnion. This is the number of new such requests for help we get each month. Look what happens after Starmer comes to power. It's a 4x increase. And that was before the new 'anti-Muslim hostility' definition.

@BenBarryJones @SpeechUnion No religion should be protected from criticism. Especially one that that is responsible for most of global terrorism.

@sergeantdixie You used to just drive off; sometimes the French border guy would look at your passport; sometimes there wouldn't even be anybody there. Thanks Boris, for the sunlit uplands, not.

Every year they wheel Calder out to tell us there are massive queues at Dover because we left the EU. What he ignores is that he’s was stood at the same spot years before we left telling us there were massive queues because it’s a bank holiday weekend.

@pnxb1019 I’ve been travelling to the continent for decades and the golden rule was never to travel on bank holidays because it’s always been mayhem. But Brexit has so warped Calder he’s become like a broken record.

@sergeantdixie Must admit I can't remember those smooth , queue free, journeys Calder often suggests were the norm prior to Brexit ... Air & Ferry Travel have always been a tedious , pain in the arse ordeal to get through....not much has changed , especially on a Bank Holiday weekend 🤣

Today we think of everyone affected by the attack in Manchester on the night of the 22nd May 2017, and particularly the families who lost loved-ones, knowing that every single day of the nine years since has been hard for them. We are still at their side and always will be. 🐝

Behold: the most impressive abuse of an MP’s expense account that I’ve seen. An average price of just under £2,000 PER ITEM. Just me, or is this taking the piss out of tax payers?
