Washington PG Zoom Diallo in the portal and visiting UK this weekend. The kid is 6'4", plays with size and extreme physicality you rarely get at the point guard position, and just put up 15.7 points and 4.5 assists a game as a sophomore while starting 29 of 33 games on a broken roster that lost 8 players during the season. His usage and assist rates both rank in the 94th percentile among all D1 guards. He can get into the lane, make multiple reads in pick and roll, and is equally dangerous going left or right. The negatives are real though. Washington went 16-17 with him as the best player...due in large part to worse injuries than UK had. His three point shooting sat at 31% even while having a nice stroke. Much of this was him having to force shots. Turnovers were also a consistent problem....again, in some part due to having a bad team. Defensively he gets exposed by quicker guards in space and that's all on him. Two years of eligibility remaining. Pope better close this one fast because he won't be available long.
