Six Flags (post-Cedar Fair merger) just announced they’re selling seven parks to EPR Properties (a real estate investment trust focused on experiential properties) for about $331 million in cash. The deal helps Six Flags pay down debt, streamline their portfolio to focus on higher-growth/higher-performing parks, and keep operating 34 locations going forward. • Valleyfair (near Minneapolis) • Worlds of Fun (Kansas City) • Michigan’s Adventure (near Grand Rapids) • Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston • Six Flags St. Louis • Six Flags Great Escape (Lake George area, NY) • Six Flags La Ronde (Montreal) Key details from the announcement: • The sale should close in Q1 or Q2 2026. • For the rest of the 2026 season, they’ll still run as normal under Six Flags branding (season passes/multi-park perks honored through 2026). • After that, EPR will partner with Enchanted Parks (tied to Innovative Attraction Management, who already run some EPR-owned spots like Enchanted Forest Water Safari) to operate the six U.S. parks, and a separate operator (La Ronde Operations) for the Canadian one. • EPR gets rights to use the Six Flags name through the end of 2026.
