I've taken 5-MeO-DMT 1,000+ times at all doses while doing pretty much anything you can imagine and I still learn an immense amount of information every time I have a journey. It has not gotten old, nor repetitive. I've only been able to explain like 15% of the phenomenology.
Bryan Johnson@bryan_johnson

This was the most profound experience of my life. I am stunned beyond comprehension. This molecule is without peer. The 27mg dose opened up what felt like pure consciousness and intelligence. A majestic reveal of existence itself. In all its incomprehensible glory and majesty. It is impossible to explain with words. Whatever you imagine, multiply it by 1,000 and then add infinite width and depth and dimensions. But entrance was not granted without prerequisite. Existence demanded that I submit. That I say yes; without attachment and without condition. Yes to existence; yes to the dissolution of self; yes to release control; yes, to all. My ego registered the ask and panicked. It wanted control. It was desperate for control. It pleaded to escape from the torrent of light and essence that threatened to rip my sanity into chards. The urge to eject was overwhelming. Terror thundered throughout my mind and body. It took everything within me to release. I overcame and was treated with bliss that defies imagination. A euphoria colored with perfect harmony of all things. An orchestra of essence washed over me and swept me up in dance. It was home. The highest aspiration of intelligent life. For some reason, stored and tucked away as the ultimate prize. A single concept emerged in omnipresence: we cannot grok the preciousness of our existence. Yet it is everything we’ve ever wanted and more. The state we long for without knowing it exists. This caused me great pain and heartache. A swell of loyalty and devotion emerged inside me, pledging allegiance to existence. To become a warrior and caretaker of life on earth. To protect at any cost the candle of consciousness that has miraculously emerged in this part of the galaxy. What awaits will wipe all your tears, soothe all your sorrows, and infinitely exceed your wants.

I'd write it differently now, but here is my rundown of what happens at each of the "levels". I'm only scratching the surface here. And I think in a year or two I'll be much better at explaining and visualizing this than now (or then!). Still useful! heart.qri.org/retreats/2023-…

after i sprained my ankle a few weeks back and couldn't do yoga for a while, i started doing low dose 5meo while rolling around my bed stretching whatever wants to be stretched, mostly my hips and neck, for around 45 mins to start the day. i can feel my hips again, all day, for the first time in months getting mostly physical with the drug that makes thoughts stop is probably a good idea. don't come back with big ideas. just unkink your somatic energy

@2cSynek 3MMC has a completely different profile than 2 and 4 in my clinical and personal experience. Yes the fiendish part is challenging. Best in facilitated environments that manage dosing appropriately. "clarity not euphoria" is a good way to describe for sure

@SteveRio Its a shame cathinones have their fiendish quality to them. Why 3MMC and not 4MMC? Is it about clarity and not getting side-tracked by euphoria?

I wish I could show you the before and after but I don’t photograph myself when I’m ugly lol Long story short: I went on a very strict low-histamine, anti-endotoxin protocol 5 days ago and I cannot explain to you in words what happened to my face. The puffiness is GONE. Skin is glowing. I catch myself staring in the mirror like a narcissist bc I was so used to the bloat lately that I forgot what my actual bone structure looks like. Face looks snatched: like a fashion model, pretty much. Skin is glowing, so smooth. And yes, partly that’s Aurabiōm doing her thing bc my skincare regimen is dialled in and my product is incredible. But as I keep telling you: you cannot slap a serum or a peptide on a collapsing foundation and expect miracles. You have to fix the terrain first. So here’s what I did (and it’s strict, but I felt it was necessary in my current situation): Cut out all starch. Starch and (especially resistant starch) is the devil and I can’t take anyone who says otherwise seriously. Most fibre. All nuts, seeds, legumes, beans. All vegetables. Everything that feeds bacteria or drives histamine. My diet now literally consists of: • Coffee with milk, sugar, honey • Milk • Cottage cheese, mozzarella, burrata • Loads of eggs • Shrimp (frozen straight after catch, cooked from frozen—I don’t eat meat bc I can’t trust its freshness) • Fresh oysters • Fruits, fruit juices, coconut water • Coconut oil • Lots of salt • Ginger • Cacao • Orange marmalade • Gelatine and collagen Gut cleansers daily: • Raw carrot salad (without the vinegar) • Well-cooked white button mushrooms • Blueberries and cherries Supplement and medication stack (I’m not the most disciplined person with supps; sometimes I don’t take anything for weeks but I’m back on them now): • Cyproheptadine at bedtime (waiting for other serotonin antagonists to arrive in the mail) • Magnesium • Glycine • L-theanine • Activated charcoal (away from food) • Vitamin E • D3 + K2 • Aspirin • Progesterone, pregnenolone, depending on the time of the month • B1 + B complex • Niacinamide • Gelatine and collagen • Acerola cherry for vitamin C; huge doses. HUGE. Oh, and I do a lymphatic drainage routine every single day. 3–5 minutes. Non-negotiable. I can’t stress this enough: if you’re experiencing bloating, puffiness, inflammation, starting internally is the only way forward. No topical will save you from a body that’s drowning in endotoxin and histamine. Fix the foundation, then let your skincare actually work. Trust me on this one :)

Gut inflammation hurts digestion, sure, but it also collapses your brain’s field of awareness. You basically become semi-retarded. Let me help you. Bacterial endotoxin and serotonin from the intestine block cellular energy production, forcing cells into stress chemistry. The brain feels this as narrow, anxious, tunnel-like thinking. It can be horrifying and isolating. When energy metabolism falters, your body pulls back from expansive, intuitive awareness and locks into survival mode (no bueno). How to restore peripheral, panoramic thinking: • lower endotoxin -> raw carrot salad, mushrooms, bamboo shoots...they act like natural antiseptics; apart from that, no raw or undercooked or reheated veggies, starches, grains, and no nuts, seeds, legumes; opt for ripe fruit, juices, honey, marmalades, etc • support electrolytes -> salt and a pinch of baking soda in fruit juice protect against the hyponatremia/endotoxin loop • steady blood sugar -> fruit juice-sip every hour, ripe fruit, honey, dairy with protein keep the brain fueled and cortisol low • block stress mediators -> aspirin, sugary coffee with cream, niacinamide, bio-identical progesterone/pregnenolone and thyroid hormones all protect mitochondria and stabilise mood and are anti-endotoxin • light & warmth -> UV light, sunlight, red light and good thyroid function shift cells back into respiration, producing CO₂ instead of lactic acid • ditch PUFA (all unsaturated fats) -> seed oils / unsaturated fats intensify inflammation, suppress thyroid and worsen gut leakiness • saturated fats (coconut oil, butter, cacao/cocoa) protect the intestine, cacao/cocoa in particular is anti-endotoxin and it reduces leaky gut • gelatine / glycine / bone broth -> help shield the liver by limiting fat oxidation from seed oils and calming the inflammatory reaction to bacterial endotoxin; eat daily • activated charcoal (occasionally) binds toxins • naringenin, found most abundantly in orange marmalade (the peel) and then some citrus fruit, lowers endotoxin induced inflammation; eat marmalade daily!) • vitamin D suppresses endotoxin, supports gut barrier integrity • ginger calms the gut, lowers serotonin • aged cascara sagrada -> helps with constipation, as do magnesium citrate, coffee, adequate calories, insoluble fibre (Ray Peat carrot salad, well-cooked mushrooms, bamboo shoots), blueberries, baking soda, aspirin, B1, methylene blue, psyllium husk, thyroid, ginger • vitamin E (mixed tocopherols and tocotrienols) -> fights inflammation • taurine protects the endotoxin burdened liver (my top supp) • drugs like cyproheptadine or lisuride can be powerful serotonin antagonists • keep stress low -> simple breathing, CO₂ rich environments, whimsy, novelty, silly goose time and play, closeness with other people and restorative rest expand awareness • some safe antibiotics might sometimes be needed (minocycline most notably) to unalive bacteria that cause endotoxin overload When the gut lining is calm and metabolism is steady, your digestion is perfect, your entire cognitive field expands, awareness widens and intuition returns, and your thinking regains depth and subtlety. When you heal the gut, the mind reopens. Trust.

@aestheticprimal What do you think about 5ht1a? You are onto something, but without the actual experience you wont understand how psychedelics work. Science is barely catching up. Theorytizing can only give you so much.

5-HT (Serotonin) undeniably plays massive role in neuroplasticity and the promotion of creating new connections and breaking down old ones, especially regarding selective 5-HT2A agonists (MDT, LSD, Psilocybin) which can be tremendously beneficial when it comes to breaking down repetitive maladaptive coping behaviors (PTSD, OCD etc.) but take into account that what you're breaking down is not just maladaptive coping habits, but also your very own self-identity, we are meant to have loose screws, everyone that has ever created something meaningful in this world was fucked in the head. Stagnation much often doesn't require you to take a different approach/route, but rather to double down on your efforts and being stubborn enough to persist/continue The most probable reason as to why Serotonin gets released into the PFC from the Dorse Raphe Nucleus after organisms have given up in learned helplessness models is because Serotonin largely acts as a numbing agent, making you forget about your past self/past goals and allows you to form new goals and a new identity that doesn't need achievement of a particular goal you previously failed to achieve and thus inachievement of that goal also doesn't cause you psychological pain/stress. Take into account that the 5-HT2A receptor is the most implicated Serotonin receptor when it comes to neuroplasticity in the PFC regions, what are its main endogenous promoters? DMT (Dimethyltryptamine), which is produced by the body when it's under extreme hypoxic stress (near-death experiences for example) Serotonin, which rises when you 'give up', when animals hibernate, and on a high-Tryptophan diet (linked to accelerated aging) Doesn't seem like a good thing

binary thinking is Ahrimanic and Serotonergic at it's core we, as biological organisms have a ton of cellular processes that are paradoxical at it's core, which its possibility is completely forgotten if u operate from a rational perspective (because u act and think based on what u know) operating from intuition is the only way u can really navigate yourself through these things, and that comes from practical application instead of reading studies about pathways

thousands of hours spent towards researching the enhancement of the performance of the brain, reading papers, and you basically just see how Peat his work come back in all of it. Peat's fundamentals are key to follow when it comes to cognitive enhancement, almost anything that 'works' has a tremendous effect on glucose metabolism in the brain. high carb/low fat diet low iron and low PUFA (iron-dependent lipid-peroxidation is one of the main things that messes up (brain) redox status thyroid running fast for even further enhanced glucose metabolism anti-learned helplessness thinking preventing stress cascades from excessive phosphate (PTH), low-sodium (RAAS) neurosteroids downstream from Pregnenolone, or Pregnenolone itself (which is also a neurosteroid) Bohr effect from enhanced Co2 retention/production the gut-liver-brain axis (limit endotoxin, negative gram bacteria, preventing bacterial overgrowth) amino acid balance, limiting methionine, cysteine, tryptophan keeping serotonin at bay (antagonism of most 5-HTr's, like 5-HT6r increases activity in most parts of the PFC) b-vitamins their role in the Krebs cycle, especially Thiamine through PDH ultimately it is the true foundation of cognitive enhancement

Posture isn't passively held by bones & muscles against gravity. It's actively maintained by continuous bioelectric patterns dictating tissue shape. When the pattern degrades, form degrades. Rehab is about changing the signal environment to enable tissue reorganization.
