Update from YOUR Kentucky Capitol on the last day of the #KYGA26. Despite strong bipartisan support & thousands of you making your voice heard to protect KY kids, the Kentucky Senate refused to move HB 227 by Rep. Lockett foward on the final day. Despite this dissapointing setback, we remain committed to working to protect Kentucky kids from social media harms by empowering parents. Thank you for joining us in the battle to protect the hearts and minds of the next generation!

Let Us Pray: 2026 KY Legislative Session Coming to an End “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7 Today is the last official day of the 2026 Kentucky General Assembly. Unfortunately, this year’s General Assembly has lacked the boldness of past sessions, failing to pass or even give a hearing, to numerous priority pro-family and pro-life bills. There have been a couple of commendable moments this session, such as the final passage of House Bill 1. This bill opts Kentucky into a new federal education tax credit program, which allows qualified participants to make donations to a scholarship-granting organization (SGO). Those funds are used to fund numerous scholarship opportunities for public and private school students, which will help more students succeed in our Commonwealth. Another highlight of this session was the final passage of House Bill 757, which included language from HB 101 to remove the requirement for churches to collect sales and use taxes that was unnecessarily burdening church ministry activities. Even though this is the last day of the legislative session, one key pro-family bill could be passed by the end of the day. House Bill 227, which protects minors from social media harms, has already been passed by the KY House. It also has received two readings in the Senate, which means it could be given a committee hearing and a final vote by the Senate today. HB 227 by Rep. Matt Lockett simply requires social media companies to obtain parental consent when they know a younger child is using their platform. HB 227 also bans addictive features on the accounts of younger children. As the session ends today, let’s finish well by keeping the faith and doing all we can to encourage our elected leaders to support God-honoring policies, like upholding parental rights. Although we cannot determine the outcome of this legislative session, we can be faithful to the end in our advocacy of legislation that will bring forth God’s blessings on our Commonwealth. LET US PRAY… Father, may God-honoring legislation be passed on this last day of the legislative session here in Kentucky. Lord, please convict each Kentucky legislator to pass bills that glorify You and will bring Your blessings on our state. Father, empower us, Your people, to faithfully advocate for legislation that honors You as the legislative session ends later today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
