The newly proposed peace deal is effectively a worse version of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, with Iran firmly in the driving seat.
Ex-UN official and economist Pyotr Kurzin points out that the U.S. has accepted the Iranian proposal as the base framework, giving Tehran ultimate leverage.
Kurzin explains that simply renaming a deal to put "USA" first doesn't hide the fact that the Americans are following an Iranian roadmap.
Pyotr warns that this cannot be framed as anything other than a strategic loss for Washington.
