@BretWeinstein do not let them shame you for asking a question. In a lot of ways this does feel like COVID all over again. But some of us have evolved and are able to recognize the BS narratives they feed us everyday. And the rest of y'all still eat it up, or are complicit in the BS. Those of us who know we are being fed a steaming pile of crap ask some good faith, legitimate questions and get shamed for them. It feels oddly familiar.

Bret, you are asserting, without evidence, that there was a "cover-up." Given how vague your posts are, and given the proliferation of popular "cover-up" narratives that directly implicate Erika Kirk and Charlie's closest friends in his murder, people reasonably assume you're referring to, and lending credence to, those narratives. That contributes to the ongoing torment of real, innocent people. If you're NOT referring to those mainstream "cover-up" narratives, then explain what you actually mean instead of repeatedly posting vague and ambiguous conspiracy slop that you undoubtedly know winks at some of the most sinister people spreading baseless accusations. Read the comments on your posts, Bret. People are extremely confused and concerned about what you're saying and doing. Many of them are among the most reasonable and measured people I know. Most of them once deeply admired and respected you. My DMs are full of people you know asking me some variation of, "What in the world is going on with Bret?" You're a public figure who communicates ideas for a living. Judging by the sheer volume of confusion and genuine concern about your state of mind in your comment section, I think you'd have to admit that you're failing catastrophically as a public communicator. That should bother you, a lot. It would certainly bother me, and I'd do everything I could to clear up the confusion and salvage my reputation. Instead, you seem almost completely unconcerned with providing clarity. In fact, you appear to interpret the negative criticism as evidence that you've triggered some kind of social immune response defending a sacred false belief. But that couldn't be further from the truth. We're not putting you through a struggle session for being a heretic. Nobody is asking you to shut up or repeat a slogan. Quite the opposite. We're asking you to say more, not less. We're asking you to state your ideas clearly, explicitly, and in as much detail as possible so they can be evaluated on their merits. Right now, nobody knows what the hell you're talking about. But you seem to be gesturing in a very dark and/or stupid direction. You're the only person who can actually clear up the confusion, if confusion isn't actually your goal. Take your role as a public figure seriously. Start behaving like a scientist instead of a quack podcaster with a martyr complex. Stop vague-posting conspiracy slop. Speak precisely. Say exactly what you mean. When you make claims—such as "there was a cover-up"—provide evidence for them. Don't evade questions or play dumb when people ask you for evidence or clarity. Don't treat pushback as evidence that you're right. Behave like a responsible truth-seeker and communicator who wields a flashlight instead of a fog machine. People are exhausted by the style of discourse coming out of right-wing Podcastistan of just dumping absolute garbage into the public square for clicks and views that we all have to spend time cleaning up. You're a smart guy. You're also very kind, and I've enjoyed your company every time we've met in person. If we didn't have a personal relationship, I wouldn't have bothered writing any of this. I would have simply dismissed you. I hold you to a higher standard because I still think there's a chance you're acting in good faith and have simply spent too much time online or in the company of people who have severely distorted your perception of reality. I genuinely believe you're better than the behavior you've been engaging in, and I hope you change course.

I know it’s been a few days now, but the Vance/Rogan episode really requires a transcript—especially on the Epstein stuff. If you’re familiar with the narratives and where they come from, it’s so damning. The dude is, as he admits, a legit conspiracy theorist; he buys into so much shit that’s not real because he won’t so much as check a footnote or sourcing.

This is perhaps true in a general election, but not in a primary. JD is not our nominee, and no one has any obligation to use their vote to ascend a primary candidate to be our nominee simply because of his current station. Concern over America’s relationship with Israel is a wholly legitimate concern for a primary voter, and believing in a strong bilateral relationship with Israel is in no way antithetical to an America First philosophy. Even in a general election, one might conclude that America ceding its place as global hegemon and turning on its historic allies is itself an anti-American position that outweighs other concerns. I may disagree with that view, but it isn’t in conflict with an America First philosophy per se. Still, for now the question isn’t “who will I support for President,” it’s “who will I support to be the republican nominee for president.” In that contest, JD’s unwillingness to criticize the worst elements in the movement while reserving his most blistering rhetoric for the cohort that has most consistently voted Republican — a cohort that is also consistently the most conservative — is troubling. It’s far too early to say it is conclusive, but it’s worth remembering that in a primary, it isn’t our job to vote for JD. It’s JD’s job to win our vote. Right now, he is alienating a large segment of the 2024 coalition for what seems to me no reason. I hope he finds a better way to navigate the division. I do not believe he will win the nomination without a more deft hand.

When I encounter active duty, retired, and deceased servicemen and women, I am profusely thankful for their service to our nation. I'm not cavalier about them being placed in harms way. I've never met one who wanted that thanks from a grateful citizen for the brave work of trucking portapotties around a base, or surfing a desk. Our military is not fed with American blood, brains, and greenbacks to sit around being a target for Iranian or Houthi missiles. While the President may not ever see this message, I still yell toward the White House for orders that make more heroes from these brave men and women. They will always rise to the occasion. Decapitate this Iranian regime. Then decapitate the next. Continue until they kneel for peace. Do it with our forces. Do it with the help of many friendly countries in the neighborhood. Allow the Kurds and the Israelis to jump into the trenches you're queasy about quartering with Americans. This is a war that can be won, and nobody else in your oval office has or will have he balls to do it. Only you. And for goodness sake, root out the people in your administration like Vance who counsel you toward gentlemen's' handshakes with Islamic terrorists.
