They’ve had six months to come up with a roadmap, and saying “closer to June. we’ll chat” doesn’t exactly sound reassuring. I’ve got a pretty grim feeling that this announcement might end up being something like, “Shadow Order is the last update Destiny 2 will receive.”

@JustSmolPebble @itsHecticc Personally, I don’t think D2’s service should end till all vaulted content is returned— or at minimum the campaigns.

@itsHecticc Honestly at this point it could be such a banger if we end off d2 with a huge boss rush event and potentially one last raid after. I'd be happy with that and then having to wait for d3

@EliTheDrifter @itsHecticc No, because Halo’s servers stayed up for what.. 20+ years? Destiny 1’s servers will stay up for 10+ more years They could just end all service to Destiny 2 but keep the servers going till whenever it’s time to say goodbye

@itsHecticc Guys it'll be fineeeee. Things usually turn out for the best. Besides, if Destiny WAS in as bad as a position as people are making it out to be, don't you think the service would've shut down several times over by now?

@Wallfalldown @TaxableFur @itsHecticc D3 is the only realistic way to save the franchise and reignite goodness into fans. On one side, you have no onboarding due to the destruction of the DCV on the other you have final shape was seen as destiny 2’s ending and on another you have dwindling numbers.

@DevEthos I played Destiny 1 super casually and eventually became a hardcore player. On ramp was pretty easy. Game was just barren until Taken King. It wasn’t unwelcoming like Marathon.

Not going to lie I'm getting really tired of this revisionist history of destiny. Destiny 1 did not have a good on-ramp experience at all. It was terrible initially and it wasn't until Taken King that a ramp was starting to form. The crazy part is that marathon is in no shape or form even close to having the issues that destiny 1 had. Destiny 1 had a lot of y'all playing it initially off of the credit of bungie's reputation with Halo. This is what I'm talking about when I refer to nuanced conversation. Too many creators just look at the surface level of comparisons and are forgetting about the time and place playing a factor in a game's perception.

@HMBohemond I'm sure this will look very good in their court case with that dude who said they stole his work. If I remember right they told the judge they could not produce a functioning version of that content.

"We had to sunset all that content for performance reasons," Bungie said. "The content is gone. We deleted it. We can't get it back," Bungie said. NetEase apparently has access to some of or all of the "deleted" files and put some of it in Destiny Rising. The Leviathan zone, specifically. Absolute fucking joke of a company. They're just lazy and don't want to do the work. Sunsetting was a lie.

@HMBohemond Larp Bungie never said they lost access to the content and couldn’t get it back We’ve seen literal pieces of red war/warmind/curse of Osiris content and literal D1 content throughout the games years since vaulting LARP LARP LARP

@CaptainAbsol @ShitpostRock2 Blame the community for the switch up with seasons. They harped Bungie till they swapped then the “two dlcs a year = better” crowd won and killed the game

@ShitpostRock2 I guess gacha games are only effective if they stick to the script and focus on mid-to-long-term sustainability instead of whatever the fuck Destiny was doing that gave us Lightfall and then switched the seasonal model for Episodes only to go back to gimped D2Y1 seasons

The funniest thing about Destiny Rising is that despite being a Chinese gacha game it's somehow more f2p friendly than the actual Destiny 2 game

@DevEthos I’d rather them build a D3 as well personally. I just think so much of what Bungie did wrong with Destiny 2 harmed them permanently. You can’t talk about Destiny without content vaulting even being brought up. I’m satisfied with final shape as well!

i dont think it would of matters. Bungie already admitted that a huge amount of their players are PVE focused. From what i've seen more of the PVP players are trying marathon because they been abandoned for years. I may be in the minority but I loved final shape and feel that is the end of D2. Im satisfied with the game and would rather them try a new game or build D3 and keep having to build for a game over a decade old.

@michael_m1002 @on_smoko_ And where and how are the thalmor going to reach Skyrim for this war? Skyrim is so geographically protected they used its mountains as a buffer zone to prepare for red ring. Cyrodiil wont allow dominion troops to gather, Morrowind wont, Hammerfell certainly wont.

@on_smoko_ If you play the Imperial side Tullius says multiple times he knows peace with the Thalmor won’t last and another war is inevitable. A Skyrim without the Empires support would never win.

@NebsGoodTakes I’d love to play Elder Scrolls online if it wasn’t elder scrolls combat (worse combat ever made) and a mix of cut and dry mmo combat (also worst combat ever made) otherwise the worlds, music, art, and idea of it all is amazing
