@3azalam For South Asian languages, this Heh shape is used exclusively for aspirated consonants. It can appear in initial or isolated form only after non-left-joining letters such as Dal and Reh. The sample on the right is Urdu, the left Kashmiri:

Can this shape also be used as initial in Nasta'liq? I remember seeing it somewhere but now I can't find it in any example as initial! #arabiccalligraphy
