@olearydan that’s not a genuine tim horton’s canadian timbit you’re talking about, is it? to my knowledgethose require a special export permit from ottawa and are rarely seen south of the border. altho maybe i did hear something about the company being sold stateside to somebody. maybe…???

@SeanEckford @tess_lt it’s a great movie. i just rewatched it online a few nights ago and marvelled (again!) at the fabulous recreation of shipboard life in aubrey’s time, and the astonishing verisimilitude of the naval battles.

I remember how excited I was to take @tess_lt to see it opening night, and being a bit surprised that there wasn’t a huge line out the door… also reminds me it’s time to re-read O’Brian’s books.

For example, the story calls Ontario’s electricity supply, which is more than 50% nuclear, “super clean.” That’s true from an emissions standpoint, but nuclear power opponents might not see it as super clean electricity for other reasons. 2/2

This is a great piece, but I wish it went a little deeper into the non-emissions environmental impacts too, especially for electricity generation and extraction of coal, o&g and battery minerals. I think it still comes out in an EVs favour, but I’d like to see the analysis 1/2

@ScottSmithDev i went backcountry skiing for a break this morning 30 minutes from my house. same idea, tho i didn’t jump into it (altho i took a few unintentional falls into it). my brain is now definitely better (tho i’m not sure about my body -;)

@danielsaidi i record directly off the device connected to my mac using quicktime player. makes it easy, but them i’m Just recording the screen w/out the bezel which i don’t need in my README.

Sometimes the iOS simulator gets stuck in this state, where the name panel is far away from the simulator. I would LOVE to find a way to trigger this "bug", since it's perfect when you want to record a gif for a GitHub project. In it's normal state, the panel shadow shows.
