40 + 2 – Chelsea have had 40 shots across their last two matches (22 vs Newcastle and 18 vs PSG), the most attempts they’ve had in back-to-back games in all competitions without scoring since January 2011 against Liverpool (20 shots) and Fulham (25 shots). Blunt.

Give him a run of games and he'll be better than Sanchez on the long run, his style is more suited to Modern football, and in terms of shot stopping not miles behind, besides Sanchez hasn't helped Chelsea win anything major. The top coaches stick to their philosophy, and how Rosenior handle this situation will tell me more about his character and mentality.

Liam Rosenior: "Football's amazing, isn't it? Up until 15 minutes to go in PSG and after the performance at Aston Villa, winning in the FA Cup with a changed team, everything was looking good." [via @SkySportsPL]

Filip Jorgensen vs PSG all ball playing actions

Chelsea under Rosenior have inherited the same OOP issues Maresca had due to their insistence on defending M2M when Chelsea don't have the ball. Maresca's OOP structure wasn't bulletproof either, but the more I think about it, the more I realize pressing M2M was probably intentional by design due to our starting midfield profiles built around Enzo & Caicedo Both naturally have aggressive temperaments to hunt for the ball, but often struggle to cover space and lack elite screening abilities when asked to defend zonally. So it makes sense to use a defensive pressing scheme that plays to their strengths while covering their weaknesses A downside to being a rigid M2M side out of possession means your team would often be caught lacking compactness centrally in moments and your OOP structure won't be bulletproof, which would make your team susceptible to being bypassed easily in moments when there is a lack of communication from your players, poor timing when engaging or the M2M press being manipulated by clever opposition tactics. PSG & Bayern employ similar M2M pressing styles but they can get away with it in the German & French leagues, but the Premier League is unforgiving with opposing sides setup to capitalize on lapses in concentration. Newcastle's goal yesterday validates this point.

Exclusive 💣 There are serious concerns brewing within @ChelseaFC regarding manager Liam Rosenior. 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐦 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧. One key figure based in the USA is reportedly eyeing Luis Enrique as a potential replacement. This shift could mean a significant change for Rosenior, who might find himself returning to France if he’s let go. The pressure is mounting, and the stakes are high as Chelsea navigates this turbulent period. Fans are left wondering what this means for the club's future and the direction they’ll take moving forward.

Micah Richards after PSG defeat: "He’s [Liam Rosenior] cooking. He’s cooking up a storm. I’m telling you now. Tactically, this guy has got it. I’ve seen everything I need to see. “The way they build up, Mistakes again, but Sanchez probably should have played."

🚨🚨⚽️❌Even under heavy pressure, defenders should avoid playing it back to the keeper. It's safer to go direct to midfield or attack. One wrong pass at the back can be a gift to the opponent. 🚫 twitter.com/Connorsalt8/st…

Liam Rosenior: “In the Premier League, there is no Doué, no Ousmane Dembélé, no Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, no Vitinha or João Neves, It’s an exceptional team. Exceptional European champions.” Via @GFFN
