@wendelltalks Science is a method of discovering what is true of objects. The method works because it produces predicable results. You have your definitions backwards. A philosophy is a hypothesis. It is not the opposite of science; philosophy is not theology, not doctrine.

That’s not communism in practice. That’s voluntary cooperation inside a capitalist framework. You built businesses, owned them, and chose to restructure them. That only works because property rights exist. Without them, there’s nothing to build, own, or convert. Worker co ops are allowed under capitalism because people are free to organize however they want. Under actual communism, you don’t get that choice. You don’t own the business to begin with, and neither does anyone else. The state or the collective does. So the example proves the opposite point: If co ops succeed, it’s because capitalism allows them. If communism were imposed, the freedom that made them possible disappears. Calling that “communism” is just labeling capitalist success with a different word.

@haugejostein Be precise. The socialist policy doesn’t produce prosperity. It may produce stability. But stability is also produced by extreme wealth.

It's socialism — not capitalism — that creates prosperity. Norway has one of the strongest welfare systems in the world. In Singapore, most people live in housing built by the government. In Luxembourg, social spending as a share of GDP is among the highest in the EU. Most countries that score well on this chart do so because they have socialist policies in place that increase social mobility and reduce economic precariousness.

How stupid do you have to be to be a socialist? Of course I am (somewhat) joking. Everyone is a product of their environment but I also hear some of the things socialists say and think "What part of history would cause you to think that this will work?" Ah well. We have to swing the pendulum and now is the time for a more extreme left wing view to deviate from the Democratic party. #zohranfornyc

In 1957, Carl Jung wrote: "Everywhere in the West there are subversive minorities who, sheltered by our humanitarianism and our sense of justice, hold the incendiary torches ready, with nothing to stop the spread of their ideas." Jung believed only a small “mentally stable” portion of the population keeps things together. His estimate was that only ~40% are psychologically grounded. The rest are one bad day away from breakdown. The point he was making is that most people are not rational. Their emotions possess them and when the pressure gets high enough: - Logic stops working. - Slogans take over. - Fantasy replaces reality. That’s when societies starts feeling like its upside down. Jung called it a “psychic epidemic.” A kind of mass psychological contagion. He estimated that for every crazy person you see, there are ten more that are able to mask their perversity just enough to fit in to society. While they may not break out openly, their "views and behaviour, for all their appearance of normality, are influenced by unconsciously morbid and perverse factors." In that state, irrational people rise to the top, extreme ideas are normalized, and emotion overrides truth. "Their mental state is that of a collectively excited group ruled by affective judgments and wish-fantasies." Their delusional ideas, which hide their fanatical resentment, appeal to the irrational, "for they express all those motives and resentments which lurk in more normal people." "They are, therefore, despite their small number in comparison with the population as a whole, dangerous as sources of infection."

@BibleInContext1 We know Jesus only as a word or spirit. Unless anyone has had lunch with him lately this is how everyone knows God. Thro a book, not a physical interaction.

Practicing Roman Catholics are not Christians. They are religious philosophers and pagans. They will use Christianity, the Bible and church history to manipulate its credibility and authority in any given culture. An unsaved person can pick up the New Testament read it and believe the gospel and be saved without any need for the Catholic interpretation or magisterium.

James Gunn on why he only race swaps white characters: "That’s pretty simple. Because 95% of all superheroes have historically been white it makes sense as we start adapting them to film in the modern era that some characters who were originally white become another ethnicity to more accurately reflect our world. In most cases, it would not make sense to take a character originally another ethnicity and make them white because there are already so many white superheroes.” Should this have disqualified him from running DC?

@TheMangler17866 @ennui365 You are tragically misinformed. As of late 2025/early 2026, the combined net worth of all U.S. billionaires is roughly $6.8 trillion to $8.2 trillion, with around 900–1,100 individuals holding this wealth. We owe $39 Trillion as of this posting. usdebtclock.org

@454Fascinations @sirDukeDevin So friggin’ funny. Ya know… kids are inherently dependent. All of them! It’s kind of the system for those who’re learning to tie their shoes & pronounce “emphatically”, & get educated on how to multiply 2 digit numbers.🤦🏽‍♀️ Letting them starve renders them much LESS independent.

It’s telling that many so-called communist “rights” in these arguments require taking something from someone else. A genuine right protects your freedom to act. It doesn’t obligate someone else to provide for you. When a “right” means access to another person’s property, income, or labor, it's an entitlement enforced by compulsion. So the shift is redefining rights, from freedom from coercion to a claim on others.

Okay, like you're 5 Some people are very rich because millions of people choose to buy what they make. That’s not taking from you, that’s people trading. A poor immigrant isn’t the reason you’re struggling either. They’re usually trying to do the same thing you are: work, earn, and improve. So blaming either one misses the point. If you want to understand why someone is struggling, you don’t look at who has more money. You look at what’s stopping them from earning more themselves.

@DelusionPosting Under communism, you don’t eliminate the boss. You replace many voluntary bosses with one unavoidable one. You can’t quit. You can’t opt out. And when the system inevitably fails, you still starve, except now there’s nowhere else to go.
