@PhilRugby Was the name not abbreviated by everyone in the sport to the blues? Or is it only you who is touchy about that?

@4forfalls Well you’ve now changed the wording so, by your own metric, you were either wrong then or now. As you know, but you’re just in one of your moods because you think you’ve been slighted

@4forfalls @PhilRugby Alex is a product of Aberdare RFC & Cardiff academy - you’re right reference Aberdare as it demonstrates the strong work done on the “pathway” - this will be more important if “pathway” areas increase through a reduction in clubs

@4forfalls p.s. I love how you hang on to the sock thing as though it is important and it matters. Kids moving schools and hobby clubs must really confuse you.

@PhilRugby So you’re happy to write off his first 12+ years of rugby to one sound bite. Where he learnt to step, pass and tackle. That’s a rather eliteist dismissing everyone else’s work, as I said, for one sound bite Any idea what socks he wears then?

@4forfalls That's rather villagist of you. And, as you know, Cardiff doesn't operate its own age grade teams for good reason.

Probably an unpopular opinion in rugby union. In junior rugby, from say 14/15 down, 2 consecutive knock ons, 1 by each team, should just be play on and cancel out the initial advantage Keep the game flowing.

@andygoosemoore Apologies if this point has already been made. But changing the rules around youth rugby by reducing the age limit from 19 to 18 is contributory. Some boys may be mature enough to graduate to senior rugby at 18, but most are not. Maybe a new age group of 18 to 20 may help.

16–20: The Missing Link in Welsh Rugby Welsh rugby isn’t short of talent. It’s short of structure between 16 and 20. In my latest piece, I’ve moved from identifying the problems to outlining a practical framework to widen the base and strengthen the pathway. If we’re serious about the future, this is where the work sits. Read it here: andymoore55.substack.com/p/1620-the-mis… I’m genuinely interested in views from coaches, players and administrators. open.substack.com/pub/andymoore5…

@andygoosemoore Why did this happen? Because Italy have taken the junior player development seriously over the last 20y.

FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BRAVE Italy 23 England 18 Rome witnessed something special. The Italian players looked like gladiators in the Colosseum. They kept fighting. They kept playing. The statistics tell the story. Italy 156 passes 22 kicks from hand England 96 passes 34 kicks from hand Italy trusted the ball in hand. They moved it, attacked space and kept asking questions. England got ahead and tried to close the game down. But in Rome, the brave are rewarded. The Italian gladiators stayed on the front foot and wrote a piece of rugby history. Now the question. Can Wales stop the Roman chariot after Italy have already stopped England’s sweet chariot?

@MagpieScarlet You need to start fact checking the stuff you re post. I’m not saying he isn’t a racist, however, just because it’s on the internet, doesn’t mean it’s real.
