Been working for the past 7 years with no personal growth. Can’t afford rent, clothes, or good food, just recharge cards and the same type of food for 12 months. Everyone keeps asking when will you get married? but in reality no woman wants to live with a broke man.

My wife was about to be wheeled into the theatre at 4PM. It was obvious the baby wasn't coming naturally and they needed to operate. The technical staff asked them to take her back because there was no diesel to run the generator. Thank God for Prof Sanya. He ordered them to go and put on the generator, that he would buy diesel. He took two 25 litre jerrycans and went to buy diesel. She was wheeled in and the baby brought out, already in distress. That generator never went off that night. It stayed on the whole night. The diesel they had Prof buy was not used. Not for my wife and son, at least. It was for their own purpose. That was 2010 January. When Nigeria was good.

Let me share my experience of this kind of situation. The night before the naming of my daughter, I over heard my Mum-in-law and the Mallam who was to officiate the naming of our daughter. The mallam told her my husband had sent the Islamic name and he wanted to confirm if she (mum in-law )had other names in mind. She said she didn't like the name we picked, asked it to be changed to her chosen name. When Mallam asked what he would tell my husband, she said he shouldn't worry, she would handle him.. I was staying with her at the time because my husband was out of state and he insisted I go to her place to birth and nurse my baby till he comes back. I quietly went inside and called him to register my displeasure very firmly. Immediately after Subh prayer (around 5:30-6:00am) on the day of the naming, his Uncle (her younger brother) landed in the house. He clearly told her she has no right to change the name we picked for our child. In her words " I know it's Halimah that picked that name because my son and I discussed the likely names and the one they picked wasn't one of them. She also said she knows I was the one that called the uncle because she didn't even tell my husband of her plans to change the name. The Uncle didn't mind her and stayed from that time till our daughter was officially pronounced with our chosen name, then he went home to bath and properly prepared to attend the naming. Most times, the Husband and the men in that family are the problem.

A friend of mine was not allowed to name her first child because they don’t want her tribe name. Her husband single handedly picked the English name, the mother-in-law picked Igbo name and she wanted to pick an uhrobo name as she was urhobo but was told she cannot because they don’t want the child to bear an urhobo name . She insisted on picking an English name but was told the child cannot have two English names. That was how she never got to name a child she carried and birthed.

By all means, avoid loan apps if you can One of my girls in school is a medical student and because of how expensive education has become recently, she started borrowing from loan apps just to survive. Before she realized what was happening, she had entered the dangerous cycle of borrowing from one app to pay another The debt and interest eventually piled up to over ₦800k. These people were calling, threatening and disturbing her so much that she could barely focus on school anymore. We eventually removed access to her contacts so they would stop threatening to disgrace her publicly and then helped her draft repayment mails for the registered apps. Honestly, this economy is pushing many young Nigerians into survival mode. That whole experience made me realize how much students and even their parents are quietly drowning financially right now because of Tinubu!!! NELFUND isn't relief.... It is WICKEDNESS!!!

Lol 😂 So that was how I used a 2019 Honda Pilot Elite to carry passengers. Google Maps rerouted me to avoid traffic 😫😂 The woman at the back ….mind you, I picked up 5 passengers ….started calling everybody. She called her pastor to pray for her. Called her son. Called her husband. Even dropped voice notes 😫😂 She was saying something in her language the whole time 😂 Immediately we got to Iyana Ipaja, she looked at me and said: “Thank you for not being a kidnapper.” 😭😂 Lol 😂 It was my guy in front that later explained everything to me. Apparently, the woman was telling them to pray she doesn’t get kidnapped because one small boy used one big car to carry her, but instead of following the Iyana Ipaja road, I was just following corner-to-corner routes 😭
