Twenty years ago those young lads in Ballinrobe would have correctly received a local rebuke and have been told to cop on for future parades

To reenact a rape on a float is deeply and profoundly inappropriate to do in front of children in addition to being potentially distressing to sexual assault victims in the crowd.
It also debases and makes a mockery of the trauma of Epstein and Prince Andrew’s victims, who of course have my full and unconditional support.

@590Catherine @joharvey21 Empathy isn’t and shouldn’t be, giving people exactly what they want all the time. Being kind is teaching people to live in the real world, as it exists, and to cope and adjust to it. It’s not kind to teach kids that the world will always adapt to them, it won’t.

@tuppenybunch @joharvey21 I'm ref this hill in response to Ur tweet re kids without a parent .I agree about resilience and society not having to adapt. But in cases like this we should adapt because it means nothing to the wider group but everything to a little child. Empathy makes great human beings too

Hotel rooms booked for 6 nights for work, normally I'd use @TravelodgeUK but after reading about them in the news this week, I'm going with @premierinn as I know they have a lone traveller policy. I'm sure I won't be the only one. #SafetyMatters
