@BRICSinfo Trump's strategy is crystal clear. An indefinite, total blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, no negotiation deadline, no expiration. Washington sees this as more effective than launching another full-scale war. Period.

JUST IN: 🇺🇸🇮🇷 President Trump claims Iran wants the Strait of Hormuz to be opened, but they are acting like they want it closed to "save face" because of US blockade. "People approached me four days ago, saying, 'Sir, Iran wants to open up the Strait, immediately.'"

That Iranian cargo ship's behavior was flat-out bizarre. Under tight U.S. blockade, ignored every single order, refused to stop, forced its way through until U.S. forces opened fire. Meanwhile, the USS Boxer has repositioned to the Pacific, hunting the shadow fleet hauling oil to China. 90% of Iran's oil goes to China. U.S. forces are sitting out there waiting. Every ship that shows up, they grab it. The second tanker seized? Caught in the Pacific, not the strait.

I.R.IRAN Mission to UN, NY
On 19 April, near Iran’s coast in the Sea of Oman, U.S. military forces attacked and seized Iran’s commercial vessel Touska, taking its crew hostage. This constitutes a grave breach of international law, a clear violation of the ceasefire, and an act of aggression marked by the hallmarks of piracy. Such reckless conduct directly endangers international navigation and undermines maritime safety and security. In a letter to the UNSG and UNSC, Iran calls for a firm and unequivocal condemnation of this act of aggression and piracy, full accountability for those responsible, and the immediate and unconditional release of the vessel, its crew, and all those affected.

Trump officially confirmed it. The Iranian cargo ship seized by U.S. forces was carrying weapons materials shipped from China to Iran. The ship, the cargo, every single crew member, all in U.S. hands right now. Shipping manifests and bills of lading? Forged. What was declared and what was actually on board didn't match. China's foreign ministry response was telling. No firm denial, no calling it a smear. The silence speaks volumes. The day after the seizure, China's top leader personally called the Saudi crown prince. First direct leader-level contact since the Iran war kicked off over 50 days ago. Analysts say this pushes China to ramp up pressure on Iran and push hard to reopen the strait.

🚨 NEW: President Trump insinuates China attempted to smuggle illicit goods into Iran, found aboard the SEIZED Touska ship “We caught a ship yesterday that had some things on it, which wasn't very nice. A ‘GIFT’ from China, perhaps.” “I was a little surprised, because I have a very good relationship and I thought I had an understanding with President Xi, but that's all right. That's the way war goes, right?”

With zero US aid and zero European support, Ukraine is holding Russia in place using nothing but its own drone industry. Ukraine is now the world's top military drone power in actual combat. Six million military drones produced per year. Over the past six months Ukraine has been systematically targeting Russian economic infrastructure, and it's working. Forty percent of Russia's crude oil exports have been wiped out. Ports, export terminals, all getting hit. Oil prices are up, but Russia's export capacity is getting gutted. On the eastern front, Russian forces have made zero progress. They still haven't fully taken Red Army Village. Think about it. Putin was standing up late last year demanding Ukraine hand over the remaining 20 percent of Donetsk. Look where things stand now. Russia has found no effective answer to Ukrainian drones. None.

The claim that China has three years worth of oil reserves is just flat out wrong. China is the world's largest manufacturing base and has 1.4 billion people to feed and power. A three-year strategic reserve is not remotely feasible. The real number is under six months. Japan is the country with genuinely robust reserves, built systematically since the 1970s. Come on, basic stuff.

The war in Ukraine sent shock waves through every country running Soviet-era military hardware. The US-Iran conflict hit another level of wake-up call for governments everywhere. In terms of raw military power, the US stands alone. There is no real challenger. Period.

@DeItaone The US wouldn't send Vance back without getting a clear signal first. The trip itself tells you something. Whether the Iranian delegation actually shows up Wednesday is the real question worth watching.

Iran has never given a damn about China's interests. If the Strait of Hormuz gets blocked, China is the single biggest loser, no contest. Forty percent of all cargo ships passing through that strait fly Chinese flags. And that's not counting the massive shadow fleet of ships carrying Chinese goods under foreign registrations. Iran doesn't show China any courtesy when it comes to choking off that waterway. And China just voted in a way that guarantees it has zero leverage to complain about it.

Trump is playing a smart game here. He blockaded Iran from selling oil. And hijacked the Strait of Hormuz leverage from Iran. He did not stop there. Trump pulled Iran's biggest customer, China, to the US market and is selling 600,000 barrels to them. Trump was strategic enough to keep Iran's biggest allies, China and Russia away from the impact of the blockade.

One of the most baffling moves in Chinese diplomatic history happened two weeks ago. China vetoed a UN resolution backed by 135 countries calling for the Strait of Hormuz to stay open and safe. This wasn't a US-sponsored resolution. It came from Gulf oil-producing nations, countries that have been on good terms with Beijing. And here's the kicker. The final text had already dropped any language authorizing the use of force. It was about as toothless and symbolic as a resolution gets. If China didn't want to pick a side, abstaining was right there on the table. By vetoing it, Beijing managed to alienate the Arab world AND threw away any credibility it had on freedom of navigation. Now that the US has moved to blockade the strait, China can't stand up and lecture anyone about international law. That ship has sailed. Literally.

China's crude oil imports dropped hard in March, and that's just the start. April is going to be an even bigger hole. Keep in mind, Iran's oil exports weren't even blocked yet in March. And on top of that, China's trade surplus took an unprecedented nosedive the same month. The numbers are bad, and they're going to get worse.

🇧🇷Brazil has emerged as a top alternative for 🇨🇳China's crude oil imports last month, as refiners raced to replace the large supply losses from the Middle East. Chinese imports of Brazilian crude surged 150% on the year, with 1.19 million bpd. In the meantime, Russia increased its supply to China by 31% during Q1 2026. 🇮🇩Indonesia and 🇲🇾Malaysia are also stepping up their crude exports to China. Malaysia is known as a “blend” location for mixing sanctioned Iranian crude. Official Chinese customs statistics show a 25% year-on-year drop in China’s oil imports from all the Persian Gulf countries, including Iran, in March 2026.

The U.S. military opened fire on an Iranian cargo ship trying to pass through the strait, wounded it, then seized the vessel. That's the real story of the past two days. The one that actually matters. The ship departed from Zhuhai, China, and there's been a ton of speculation spreading online about it. As for whatever Iran says in response, it's not worth paying attention to anymore. The line has been crossed. This changes things.

🚨 IRAN JUST GOT EMBARRASSED: CENTCOM drops epic footage of US Marines STORMING the Iranian ship Touska to enforce the blockade The IRGC is furious! “The Marines rappelled onto the Iranian-flagged vessel, April 19, after guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111) disabled Touska’s propulsion when the commercial ship failed to comply with repeated warnings from U.S. forces over a six-hour period.” Trump doesn’t play games 🇺🇸

When U.S. Marines took over that Iranian vessel at night, there's one detail almost nobody in China is talking about. That ship was coming back from China. As for whether it was carrying Chinese missile materials, the answer is no. Every move China makes is transparent to U.S. intelligence. You can't hide that stuff. On the Iran side, blocking the Strait of Hormuz isn't hurting the U.S. or markets anymore. Iran's internal divisions are completely out in the open now. The real trump card is America blocking the strait, not Iran. It's an overwhelming strategic advantage. They're not giving that up. After Wednesday, expect the U.S. to shift toward targeted precision strikes, think power plants and bridges, followed by a broader encirclement strategy.

U.S. forces opened fire on an Iranian cargo ship attempting to breach the Strait of Hormuz blockade. Hit the engine room, completely disabled it, then Marines boarded and took control. First time shots were actually fired since the blockade was announced. Meanwhile, Iran's Revolutionary Guard threatened a Chinese cargo ship trying to pass through and forced it to turn back. The U.S. seized a separate Iranian vessel trying to run the blockade. Here's the thing people keep getting wrong. If Iran shuts down the Strait of Hormuz, China is the biggest loser. Period. The idea that Iran would wave Chinese tankers through is total BS. The reality is the exact opposite. Iran has repeatedly blocked Chinese ships from passing and has deliberately targeted Chinese interests in the region, including a pipeline in Qatar and a Chinese-invested chemical plant in the UAE. Anything coming out of Iran right now can be ignored. The talks will continue. All that tough talk from Tehran is just posturing. Think about it. Vice President Vance flew to Pakistan in person. You don't do that without real progress already locked in behind the scenes. The markets get it too. Capital is betting on Trump. That says everything.

The U.S. is not letting go of the Strait of Hormuz blockade. That's a done deal. Right now, 25% of the cargo ships stuck at both ends of the strait for over 45 days are Chinese-flagged. That's the highest of any country. You won't hear a word about it back in China. Crews are running out of food and having to beg supplies from passing ships. Meanwhile, India already has naval vessels deployed at both ends of the strait escorting their own ships. India accounts for 13% of the trapped vessels, second only to China.

The most hardline guy left in Iran right now is the current IRGC commander. He only got the job because the previous commander was killed alongside Khamenei on day one of the war. The U.S. and Israel need to take him out, fast. If the blockade holds for over a month, Iran implodes into civil war. Period.

Speaking of settling oil trades in yuan, there's a story that actually happened and it's almost funny. Russia agreed to accept yuan for oil. The moment they got paid, they dumped every bit of it on the Hong Kong offshore market and converted it straight to dollars. The result, the yuan tanked out of nowhere and nobody could figure out why at first.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Navy commander just publicly called his own foreign minister a traitor. Out loud. That's not a minor internal disagreement, that's a full-blown power struggle. Whether the foreign minister survives this is something worth watching closely. Meanwhile the pressure from the blockade is already breaking Iran down. Six more days of this and they're done. The Revolutionary Guard talks tough but they have no idea what it costs to actually run a country. The U.S. has nothing to lose here and zero reason to stop. Iran isn't going to attack American forces and everyone knows it. Trump says keep the blockade going for six more months. Fine by America.

Honestly, there's only one president in American history who deserves to be called a straight-up traitor to his own country. Obama. The damage he did to U.S. national interests during his time in office speaks for itself. Biden, on the other hand, was actually pretty sharp on the global stage. Classic Cold War playbook, building coalitions, applying pressure. He hit China harder than any president since diplomatic relations were established. He's also the only president in that entire history who never once visited China while in office.
