@nothanksfrankie I used to read Stars and Stripes all the time when I was stationed in Japan back in the '90s. I don't remember it being nearly this political. Guess electing President Trump really 'woke' them up 😂

The irony here is that not long after they started to swing left, readership dropped to such low levels that they had to end the print edition and limit "free" access to their online stories to four articles per month. There's a reason no one reads Stars & Stripes any longer...and it has everything to do with their leftist slant on everything

I think California was pretty conservative at some point; now it is just a figment of the imagination 😆. At a young age in the Philippines, I would stop what I was doing when I heard President Reagan's voice on TV. He influenced me at a young age to join the Navy when I was able, just like my father, uncles, brother, and cousin.

Forgot to add this- I'm a big Reagan fan myself haha. My first Presidential election, I cast my ballot for his then Vice President. The Reagan years really introduced me to conservative politics as a teen. One of his staff members went to my prep school and wrote many of his speeches. He came to school several times to talk about writing for the President. Connecticut *used* to have one of the strongest state GOP caucuses in the nation (that produced Bush). Not sure what happened 😭

I don't care if you love Trump or hate him, Donald Trump has had more publicly documented assassination attempts on his life- and survived them- than any other President in US history. He keeps getting right back up- and THAT is what the United States of America is all about. Maybe that's why Democrats hate him so much. He won't bow down and he never quits- while the political left has literally made their bread and butter proselytizing for the cult of lifelong victimhood

They had the entire line of succession right down to Cabinet members in there except for the designated survivor. Can you imagine if he had been wearing a suicide vest? He got close enough that if that had been the case, the Secretary for Housing & Urban Development or whomever was the DS could have been our new Commander in Chief this morning. He should never have made it that close to all of them in one tight public location like that

My post below was to the US Secret Service last night. Clearly Senator Fetterman also gets it. The @SecretService botched it big time last night and *any* security professional who's worked with our Continuity of Government plans knows this to be true. The Secret Service Director should resign; and everyone involved in the planning of the security for this Octagon related event should be fired. You put virtually the entire line of US government succession minus the DS in a building with only one layer of security and an armed gunman was able to discharge a weapon within range of all of them. What if he was strapped with 30 pounds of C-4 and 50 pounds of ball bearings? We'd be waking up to find the Secretary for Housing and Urban Development is our new President. That's how seriously fucked up things were last night. I helped write part of the COG plan many years ago. Perhaps things have changed- and if this is what they've morphed into over the past 20 years, Secret Service- you are failing at your primary mission essential tasks
