We can give young athletes a bigger engine, better brakes, and a high performance transmission..
But if we never let the car out of the garage it’s worthless.

@litt_strength I don’t like the “I shouldn’t have to” response. As an industry, support grassroots to elite. It’s a two way street/conversation. On a personal level, control what you can control. Do your best with your demographic, and educate decision makers with tact.

In talking to college S&C coaches at #SummerStrong12, you can see the need for a different approach for MS/HS students. College coaches shouldn't have to start from scratch. They shouldn't have to do the same thing with college freshman that I do with HS freshman.

Putting a baseball team through a bunch of military training to try to build mental toughness doesn’t make you a good leader. On the contrary, it actually makes you an underwhelming exercise physiologist, biomechanist, and sports psychologist. So much for specificity of training.
