@wartranslated Their stampings are crap, their fixtures are crap, their assembly sequence is probably crap (not designed to go together easily), robotic welding doesn't work when the fitment is crap, result is crap! (Used to work in this business, but not for UAZ haha)

Russians are complaining about the welding quality in the new body of the 'Bukhanka,' produced by the UAZ company, noting that this vehicle costs 1.5 million rubles (over $15,000).

Computers have insanely better CPUs and much more RAM nowadays, yet they feel slower than 20 years ago. I used to think it happens because computers do more useful work. Turns out, better hardware is more forgiving to crappy coding practices.

Shout out to the KTM MotoGP PR team - thanks to them I've had dozens of disgruntled KTM road-bike owners onto me, telling me their new names for their bikes: Known To Malfunction, Krap Teutonic Motorcycle, Keep Taking Money, KTM Sunday ATM Monday etc etc 😅😅😅

@atrupar 40 years ago (1984): Chevy Celebrity and Citation, Ford Tempo. Taurus wasn't out yet. Chrysler K-cars. Uhh, nope. Honda and Toyota were in the process of eating the big three for lunch - deservedly. (Our '83 and '86 Accords were great cars)

@patgagnon_75 Blind allegiance to political parties. People that will vote for a certain political party (or against a certain political party) regardless of circumstances. The USA is going through some things right now, but don't be mistaken, we (Canadians) have that problem, too.

So, as a Canadian, I decided to watch the 2024 presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Can anyone explain to me how this is supposedly a close race. Seriously, how is this possible.

A lot of people complained about the new Tesla Model 3's blinker buttons replacing traditional stalks. I need to tell you: you're doing it wrong! The blinker application becomes immediately intuitive the moment you start to put your thumb on the little ridge which you can see in the picture. As soon as you do this, you can 'feel' the correct blinker button since the blinker application turns into: thumb up press 'right turn' and thumb down press 'left turn'. This also works well in roundabouts since the blinker application never changes: it's always the same thumb movement regardless of the orientation of the wheel/hands! Thumb up or down. That's all.

@niccruzpatane No. Just abandon the whole bad idea. Doesn't do anything a Model X won't do, but with worse aero.

Do you think Tesla should create “CyberSUV” alongside the Model X? It would be based off a Cybertruck but with three rows, and a hatchback. A true competitor to the GMC Yukon, Escalade, etc. IMHO Tesla would sell millions of these.

@rocktstl @EZebroni If it's a 3WT then it has about 180 kWh and it will weigh a little less than the big-battery Silverado, and have a little higher cargo and tow ratings (and be a smidge more efficient). Silverado has better aero than cybertruck.

Car and Driver says 205kwh; either way still a lot more than 123. Hope folks driveways hold up under 8,800 lbs. Seriously, though..different strokes for different folks. The pass through is the biggest advantage for the Silverado not the battery. The biggest advantage for the Ford is the big frunk…but has smaller bed..they all have advantages/disadvantages to each other … and that’s ok. Tesla kills on safety, tech, software and construction IMHO.

@rocktstl @EZebroni It is possible to go further at lower speeds. In the same situation the Silverado will probably do 50% more ... Out of Spec 70mph test did 254 miles in cybertruck, 329 miles in a 3WT (smaller battery) Silverado EV. Drive the Silverado slower and it'll go further, too.

@rocktstl @EZebroni No cybertruck will do that, unless you get the extra battery pack that eats up a chunk of the bed space. Testing by others has found cybertruck electrical consumption to be nothing special.

@mooroobee @Tesla If this is your retirement portfolio and is a big portion of it ... you need to diversify so that if something bad happens to any one company, your exposure is limited. TSLA is, and always has been, a high risk high volatility investment.

Major rant incoming: I’ve got over a mil in $TSLA. May not be much for some but it’s a big deal for me. For the first time, I’m seriously starting to doubt the company’s future. In 2018, when it was really tuff, I had the opposite sense. Our CEO @Tesla was maniacally driven to succeed, pouring his heart and soul to save the company. So I invested. It paid off. I’m grateful to Elon for making it work. Now, the picture is different: Company is slowing the fun, slowing growth, delayed in every piece of critical tech that was supposed to be the future of the company (new models, FSD, batteries, robotaxi). While others are catching up (Tesla fans, don’t kid yourselves - there are seriously good EVs out there). Biden’s $7500 and tariffs on Chinese EVs are what’s keeping US sales barely at same level as last years. Yet CEO and his enablers are driven on a completely different agenda now, focused on divide, hateful, hurtful political ideas that undoubtedly are alienating potential customers. I met several Tesla employees who moved to my neighborhood. I hear that many employees feel unease as their previously beloved CEO is now at war with people who think or live like them. They feel attacked and they lost the maniacal drive that they had from the leader who was driven for the same cause they were. They don’t feel that anymore because of Elon’s war with what he describes as the woke or the left. I love my car. I wouldn’t consider replacing it with another brand given the current set of features and price of the car, especially with “communist” Biden’s $7500 tax credit. But I have started looking for a car that says something different about its owner than being a right winger. Rivian looks very appealing. And I am doubting the stock. But my view of Elon is complicated. As much as I hate seeing him lose focus, I am one interview or one brilliant business decision away from being at awe of his strategic thinking and vision. So, I’m not sure what to do with my $TSLA. If any $TSLA all-in bro is going to tell me “sell your stock and stop whining” I’d like to tell you this: GFY.

@SpeedSportLife If they had actually introduced this around the time they announced it 2.5 years ago, it might have been a hit. But now, a Kia EV9 is better than this in every way except (IMO) appearance. Uphill battle.
