@ConnorKrukosky IBM Archives helped me way back when I made the 703, It would have helped to have more information about edx to display more 'fun' stuff on the tiny screen, but I'm done with this model right now. Ill bug them when I get around making a 360 :)

@6502b I'm glad it was helpful. If there is anything that I or the IBM Archives can assist you with in any models you build I think either of us are more than happy to help with any reference photos, dimensions, etc you may want!

My latest model, 1:12 scale IBM Series\1 with a 5251 display station terminal. Anyone on here worked with one of these? Here is a few pictures🧵

@ConnorKrukosky I actually used that youtube video as a reference for the boot text displayed on my tiny terminal. couldnt find any other video of edx booting. Not a lot of videos about the series\1 on the internet

@6502b The terminal in my Series/1 video is of an IBM 3101 terminal. I have a pair of these as well, they are IBM first ASCII terminal offering and also released along side the S/1. So now there are two incompatible terminal lines released with the S/1 requiring different controllers.

I always been a big fan of IBM industrial design of the 70s, to me it feels ahead of its time. I made this desk to fit the era, using almost the same color as the chassis of the minicomputer, the red chair just makes it pop! what do you think?

The 5251 is very reminiscent of the yet to come IBM 5150 computer 4 years later, from the keyboard to the knobs on display that are nearly identical
