3. Him: Through word of mouth. Just introduce my service to your contacts and I'll do the rest. Me: But I need to be able to show them something...white papers or industry research at least. Him: Just put me in front of your contacts. Me: Selling by obscurity isn't a strategy

Spoke to the CEO of a security startup about developing a #contentmarketing strategy. They've got a bland website, no blog, no social media. "How will potential clients know about your service?" I asked. CEO: I prefer to sell through conducting demos of the service. Thread.

@secbeard Agree. In 2019, content marketing should be part of a broader marketing strategy for tech startups IMHO.

@uzarwanda @rwandacybersec @RISARWANDA @CyberSecurityAc @cyberlabsbgu @CyberSec__News @6DegreesCyber @IBMuhizi @MusoniPaula @RwandaICT @Muhirela @RICTAInfo Criminals know that SMEs have limited budgets to invest in operations and other activities. Therefore, few of the SMEs will only pay attention to cybersecurity concerns.Type of business of the SME is also the influence. Even some companies which are not SMEs are still struggling!

@uzarwanda @rwandacybersec @RISARWANDA @CyberSecurityAc @cyberlabsbgu @CyberSec__News @6DegreesCyber @IBMuhizi @MusoniPaula @RwandaICT @Muhirela @RICTAInfo I do recommend that SMEs take some precautions to counteract the malicious activities of the criminals: 1)They should depend on the use of the existing secure free services 2)They can use the free trusted service of the cloud as their backup strategies 3)No faked software in use

@uzarwanda @rwandacybersec @RISARWANDA @CyberSecurityAc @cyberlabsbgu @CyberSec__News @6DegreesCyber @IBMuhizi @MusoniPaula @RwandaICT @Muhirela @RICTAInfo 4)I do not recommend the use of free antiviruses as they only offer min-protection. 5)I recommend partnering with others under the signed agreement to ensure they increase their security maturity level. 6)I recommend SMEs having a continuous small reserved cybersecurity budget
