@AlexOsborn25 I’m not so sure it’s such a bad thing. Few would have pencilled a point again MC. Arguably such a drubbing will help the coaching team emphasise & underline the areas we need to concentrate on. Closing down, being stronger in challenges, ball retention. Don’t shoot won’t score.

I was expecting to lose but given Cities recent form I deluded myself into believing we would at least give them somewhat of a game That was a real humbling #itfc

@paulmasonnews The 10y rate is here for all to see. The cost of serving UK debt is 28.5% greater that it was exactly one year ago.

UK bond yield opens at 4.9% There is no “bond market crisis” - however, the high and rising yield on UK debt is the result of a long-term loss of confidence after the Truss fiasco and the poor fundamentals left by the Tories and Brexit 1/…🧵

@jonsopel @AllisonPearson @TheNewsAgents Maybe the bigger concern is that a large section of society, that seeks out impartial reporting, consider the three of you to be wholly partisan to a single side of a debate.

A word on @AllisonPearson free speech row and what she describes as a ‘Kafkaesque’ threat to it. Today on @TheNewsAgents, we asked her to appear. She said ‘No. And if you get any aspect of the story wrong my lawyers will be watching.’ You gotta love a free speech warrior

@elonmusk Absolutely agree. I’m in the UK - attempting to explain to people here that UK MSM & self appointed political expert commentators appeared to misrepresent the evidence on the ground in the USA was falling on deaf ears. A Trump win no surprise to those who sought the truth.

For anyone, whether in America or other countries, who finds this result shocking, they should reconsider where they get their information. This trend was obvious on 𝕏 for months, but almost all the legacy mainstream media pushed a completely false reality. They lied to you.

Arizona just declared for @realDonaldTrump, making it a clean sweep of all swing states! Massive red wave success! It is beyond a landslide, as Republicans won: – Presidency – Popular vote – Senate majority – House majority – State governor majority – State legislature majority The few states that didn’t go red are mostly ones without voter ID requirements. Must be a coincidence 🙄 This is an extremely clear mandate from the people for significant change!

A steep yield curve instead signals accessible borrowing costs (low front-end yields) feeding into expectations for solid growth and inflation down the road (high long-dated yields). 4/

@BarristersHorse @RobertJenrick suspect the vast majority of citizens want fair and equal policing of all sections of society and of all demonstrations - regardless of race, religion or cause. There’s a growing sense of injustice and two tier policing. And that successive governmentencourages such a policy.

Completely the wrong tone, Robert. Inequality in policing following the murder of children. A breakdown in trust. The anger and hurt might be misplaced, but it still exists & threatening some communities merely adds to the feeling of helplessness and fear. It's not the right time to be self righteous.

Leeds, Southend, Southport and now Sunderland: law and order is breaking down. Wherever violence rears its head and whoever is responsible — it must be stamped out. The police must know they have our full support to crack down on any rioting or thuggery.

I have never forgotten telling man after man in cell after cell how long they would get in prison for the 2011 London riots. Once enthusiasm for lobbing bins at police has waned, once your pals have been arrested, once the booze & adrenaline subside - you realise. Then regret.

The biggest waste of a vote this election would be to vote Conservative. They are not going to win, so leaving them with any ability to think that what they've done for last five years is OK would be a bad idea. Betrayal of core Conservative principles is not OK. And coupled with total incompetence at running the country, it is doubly not OK. Send them a message.
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK

🚨 NEW: The Tories issue an appeal to Reform voters "A vote for Reform won’t mean 5 years of Labour, it would mean a generation. If you’re thinking about voting Reform, and a generation under Labour scares you, there’s only one way to prevent it: vote Conservative" [@thetimes]

@julianHjessop Risk is, if BoE were to cut, many would argue its blatant political interference - by the financial sector, that is perceived to be protected by the Tories. Perhaps more likely the will hold, citing wage price inflation.

FYI, there's a good chance that UK #inflation was finally back to 2% - or lower - in May. Crucially, the numbers will be published on Wednesday, making it easier for the Bank of England to cut interest rates on Thursday... 🧵
