This man applied for a job and was hired but told them he could start for 6 weeks because he wanted to do some traveling for leisure. But during the hiring process he had 72 hours to do a drug test which he failed to do. They cancelled his job offer and he feels it wasn’t because of the missed drug test, so what is he implying the reasoning behind it was then?
Fresh out of college, that insurance gig was the first one I applied for and was hired for. Up until then I never had to take a drug test but then again why would I have? I didn’t do drugs on a normal basis anyways. But my best friends were pot heads. On the day before my drug test I was smoking a cigarette and my friend asked for a hit and I gave it to him. The other friend passed me a joint and I took it thinking it was my cigarette and I took a long dragged and almost coughed up a lung. I panicked, I just had taken a hit of pot when I had to be drug tested for a new job the next day.
I went to the testing and did it, I got a call a few days later from HR confirming I passed and I told her I was worried because my friends smoke and I thought it would show up in my system as a second hand application. She said nah don’t worry, we only test for the hard stuff anyways. That part I didn’t know, but after that I saw my other buddies pass their work related tests too so maybe it was more widespread than I knew.

This young lady cries in her car for all to see, a week ago she was on cloud nine, today everything fell apart and she has nobody to blame but herself. She was able to get a new beautiful apartment in Florida, pay the deposit and finish the paperwork. But put off sending in the required paperwork for her new job. Worst yet she already quit her old job and is already living in her new apartment. The new job cancelled the job offer after not getting the required paperwork in time. Most of the time when I see these, it’s everybody’s fault but theirs. When I got hired at the insurance company they told me that the orientation date was non negotiable, I had to be there and I had to be there on time. I was so nervous I stayed up all night in bed instead of sleeping. I fell asleep finally before 7am. I was supposed to wake up at 9am so I could be there at 10. I didn’t wake up until 12pm. I freaked out and called the HR rep, she didn’t answer. So I hurried up and went down there and explained what happened. Originally the other HR guy told me I could leave and they would call me back but then the other HR lady I called came in and told me that I could join the rest of the team. The rest of the day for me was a nail biter because if this didn’t work out I didn’t have anything to fall back on. But she ended up being cool with me being late but stressed that I couldn’t be late again during training which lasted 3 months. For the next three months I was extra careful about going to bed early and I even setup another alarm across the room which forced me to get up to turn it off, that idea saved me a few times. This could have ended badly for me like it did for this young lady but luckily it did work out.

@Suzierizzo1 I'm actually proud of this young man! At least he's giving an effort to do the job. Perhaps if the ones filming and laughing at him, were willing to take the time and give him some tips, then he might improve and everyone would feel encouraged.
