@mouthofmorrison It's a really important part of building a technically complex product. VCs try to interpret the complexity, what milestones are relevant, what milestones are irrelevant...building momentum by publically sharing the steps you value is a great way to bring the market along

Now I’m not so sure. Sense of momentum and narrative shaping are how you create value for *investors* before you’ve reached the point of funding your business with customers. Capital is a weapon and knowing how to attract it is just as important as knowing how to deploy it.

One thing I’m learning from watching the top fundraising space startups is that they create a sense of momentum through lots of small milestones. As I watch them check off boxes (first satellite ready, fist launch, first contact, etc.) I can’t help but think I’m missing the point

This brainrot in the LP community is part of the reason why there is sparingly little alpha in venture. If you can describe where you have 'access' it's already too late to capture outlier upside in that pool. Have a unique point of view on the world, pursue it aggressively.

RE: Denver International Airport being shut down. I just wanted to point out how rare it is for a major airport (think: critical infrastructure) to be shut down entirely in an emergency/unplanned electrical outage, because they're intentionally engineered with significant redundancy/back-up systems to protect against exactly that happening. It's not like blowing a fuse at your house.

It's something that I'm really into and passionate about and started to collect wine, probably over the past decade."
