God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.

Absurd and inhuman violence is spreading ferociously through the sacred places of the Christian East, profaned by the blasphemy of war and the brutality of business, with no regard for people’s lives, which are considered at most collateral damage of self-interest. But no gain can be worth the life of the weakest, children, or families. No cause can justify the shedding of innocent blood.

Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are immersed in extreme poverty. Yet, disproportionate wealth remains in the hands of a few. It is an unjust scenario, in the face of which we cannot fail to question ourselves and commit to change things. There is no lack of resources at the root of disparities, but the need to address solvable problems related to a more equitable distribution of wealth, to be achieved with moral sense and honesty.

V soboto sem prejela zakrament Svete birme in prvega Svetega obhajila. ✝️ 30 let sem živela kot ateistka, lansko leto pa sem globoko v srcu začutila. Odločila sem se, da zaživim katoliško vero, sprejela sem Boga in stopila na Njegovo pot. To je bil eden najlepših in najpomembnejših dni v mojem življenju. Hvala vsem, ki ste me spremljali na tej poti. Bog je dober. ✝️ Verujem v enega Boga, vsemogočnega Očeta, stvarnika neba in zemlje. In v Jezusa Kristusa, njegovega edinorojenega Sina, našega Gospoda, ki je bil spočet po Svetem Duhu, rojen iz Marije Device, trpel pod Poncijem Pilatom, križan, umrl in bil v grob položen, v tretji dan je vstal od mrtvih, vstopil v nebesa, sedi na desnici Boga Očeta vsemogočnega, od tam bo prišel sodit žive in mrtve. Verujem v Svetega Duha, sveto katoliško Cerkev, občestvo svetih, odpuščanje grehov, vstajenje telesa in večno življenje. Amen.

At the beginning of Holy Week, our prayers are more than ever with the Christians of the #MiddleEast, who are suffering the consequences of a brutal conflict and, in many cases, are unable to observe fully the liturgies of these holy days. Just as the Church contemplates the mystery of the Lord’s Passion, we cannot forget those who today are truly sharing in his suffering. Their ordeal challenges all our consciences. Let us raise our prayer to the Prince of Peace that he may sustain the peoples wounded by war and open concrete paths to reconciliation and #peace. #PrayTogether
