Other than staying somewhat in golf shape, indoor golf is worthless. None of what I was doing on Trackman has translated to outside golf.
I don't regret playing indoors all winter but disappointed the goodness doesn't translate.
Before anyone asks, yes I'm using RCT golf balls
@MyGolfSpy I would love to map that information against the percentage of wedge shots that a mid amateur goes past the flag. I would argue that in most cases, less spin is better
Question: How old is your most-used wedge?
Most of us don’t realize how much wedges can wear down.
We tested it:
• ~7,000 RPM when new
• ~3,700 RPM after ~75 rounds
Same swing. Same shot.
Kind of crazy how much spin you can lose without noticing.

@eighteenholes18@laureanova I appreciate your knowlege. I just offer the possibility that a divot in the fairway caused by another player is closer to an "outside influence" than anything else
@72TakeDeadAim@laureanova My argument is that there are good breaks and bad breaks, and we seem to accept the good ones yet ask for the rules to be changed to deal with the bad ones
@eighteenholes18@laureanova Not exactly, just not in an alteration of the condition of the fairway caused by another player, or animal, or meteor falling from the sky... ;)
@eighteenholes18@laureanova If I used your argument, a ball that bounces off-limits and comes to rest in the general area, is it considered off-limits?
@eighteenholes18@laureanova The issue is ball at rest, not how it gets there. You can find all the interfering element you want, but the issue is that the ball is at rest on the fairway in an element caused by a player. Doesn´t matter how the ball got there, right?
Seb Twadell is known as the fastest swinger of the golf club on earth.
169 MPH clubhead speed
240 MPH Ball Speed
You know how some fast swings look totally effortless?
This is not that swing lol. Most effortful swing I’ve ever seen. Mashes it!

@eighteenholes18@laureanova It´s not a reciprocal argument. The forrest has always been there, and lucky bounces are part of the equation. On the other hand, a divot may have appeared just by the group ahead of you and it is caused by a player.
Have we ever had the discussion on why golf courses don’t have 6 par 3’s, 6 par 4’s and 6 par 5’s
To me it makes a lot of sense, and I think par 3’s and par 5’s are some of the best holes on a lot of courses and having more of them makes courses more fun, and have more variety
Mesmerizing. 😍
Linn Grant is known for having one of the best golf swings on earth.
First watch, you will focus on her club position in the backswing.
But I’m kind of blown away by her left arm at top of swing. Its barely passed 90 degrees. Even with driver.
Maybe I need to shorten my swing!
I know so little about the golf swing lol.

@engineeringolf@GolfDigest 3/4 and 1/2. With 4 wedges it gives me 8 different distances and multiple trajectories. What else does an amateur (down to earth, not the ones in X) need?
How do you handle less-than-full wedges?
Clock system?
Full, 3/4, and 1/2?
Pure feel?
Multiple clubs, or just one?
