The SPLC put a target on Charlie's back by naming him and TPUSA in their manufactured “Hate Map.” They used this fiction to monetize the ensuing hysteria and then funneled the proceeds into Charlottesville and other convenient vehicles to force a nationwide dragnet of mainstream conservatives and Christians, either by the federal government directly or by their violent foot soldiers.
The SPLC knowingly created a hit list they could sell to their donors, and they put the lives of conservatives in the crosshairs to do it.
These are not the actions of a charity dedicated to the public good. This is the work of conspiracists and despicable liars, and if proven in court, the appropriate punishment can’t come soon enough.
