No. This is not normal at all. $26 is a small amount. They are taxing the hell out of citizens to fund their freebies.

Since the medieval age, taxes were levied only on a person’s earnings. Once tax was paid, the person was allowed to enjoy his hard-earned income. However, nowadays, Indians are being forced to pay tax on both earning and spending. You aren’t even allowed to happily spend your already taxed income. The biggest tragedy of a tax-looting government is that they are now asking for tax even if you don’t earn or don’t spend, through STT. They are asking for tax even on mere transactions. If this were happening during the medieval age, the king would have been hanged for looting citizens of their hard-earned money. Nowadays, people work in 44°C heat only to pay 30% tax on earnings and 18% tax on spending, while the government sits in air-conditioned rooms doing nothing.
