They are very commited to a new pool and making it as attractive as possible to all users and potential events. The Lido is great but let’s not blur the 2 things. We need a new indoor (50m pool) ideally and ASAP

3. The Lido is already expensive to run in summer (loss of 307k for 6 months opening 21/22) but running it through the bad weather of winter is likely to escalate this.

Do we need a new indoor swimming pool? Peterborough lido is a shining example of success. Why not encourage outdoor swimming, why does swimming need to be indoors? What would the cost of an outdoor compared to indoor pool?

What we are really aiming at is #coaching athletes to perform their skills and techniques reasonably well, at speed, under fatigue, when facing emotional pressure, in competition - when and where it matters.
