Main issue with positioning Cherki outside a low-block is him requiring a high-volume amount of touches and constantly circulating everything through him. Leads to having -1 on the last line and solely relying on him doing something freakish to break open the opp~structure.

Shades of Ngumoha in the dribble in terms of how he jitters side to side to disrupt the FB opposed to him, puts up top creative numbers and has a burst to stretch defences/glide away from his marker. Would be a project to be one of the teams creative hubs alongside (Cherki/Doku).

The best Guardiola teams have always had a maverick who’s at the forefront of all attacks and are able to create something out of nothing (Messi, KDB etc). Rayan Cherki’s that player in the team now, has to play as much as possible if we wanna compete for the biggest trophies.
