Highly recommend NYers send this to their representatives: Subject: Reconsider New York’s All-Electric Mandate Dear [Representative’s Name], I am writing as a resident of [City] deeply concerned about New York’s new mandate requiring all new homes to be built all-electric. While it is framed as a climate initiative, in reality this law makes our state’s severe housing crisis worse, raises costs for families, and delivers no meaningful benefit to global emissions. New York already has one of the least builder-friendly environments in the country. Our inventory shortage drives prices higher every year, yet this mandate adds another costly hurdle that will reduce the number of new homes built. Families are being priced out, and some counties are now denying building permits because the grid cannot even support the demand created by all-electric requirements. Blocking construction in this way guarantees fewer homes, higher costs, and more families displaced or unhoused. Even if these hardships were justified by climate impact, the math simply doesn’t hold. New York accounts for less than 1% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Nothing our state does will alter the global trajectory if large emitters like China and India continue to expand their output. Methane concerns, often used as the justification for phasing out natural gas, are overstated. Leakage rates are low, falling due to better technology, and nowhere near large enough to erase the environmental benefits of natural gas compared to coal or oil. Yet New Yorkers are being forced to shoulder costs that will not make any real difference in climate outcomes. If New York ever had a leadership role in showing the nation how to address housing effectively, this mandate only erodes it further. Leadership requires building solutions that people can trust and replicate. By pursuing symbolic policies that worsen housing affordability and deliver no measurable climate benefit, our state is not leading. It is undermining its credibility and driving people away. And if we judged this policy purely in terms of outcomes, it becomes clear that it isn’t about climate change or emissions at all. The real effect is to benefit the wealthy, who can absorb higher housing costs and access subsidies, while leaving middle- and working-class families to shoulder the burden. This is a transfer of costs downward, a policy that helps the few at the top and punishes everyone else. This law reflects symbolic politics, not real solutions. It prioritizes virtue signaling over affordability, and it punishes ordinary families while the wealthiest can easily absorb higher housing costs and take advantage of subsidies. That is not climate leadership. It is policy failure that erodes public trust. I urge you to take action: 1. Repeal or amend the all-electric mandate to allow choice of heating and cooking systems in new housing. 2. Prioritize housing affordability and inventory growth above symbolic climate measures that do nothing to address global emissions. 3. Insist on transparency going forward. Policies of this scale should not be buried in the state budget but debated and voted on openly. Please stand up for housing, affordability, and energy choice in New York. Families in Troy and across the state cannot afford the consequences of this law. Thank you for your attention. Sincerely, [Your Full Name] [City, NY] [Your Contact Information] @NYSenate @NYSA_Majority @NYS_AM @NYSenDems @nysenategop

@afellabeinaguy @PrishaMosley Fair criticism. But these modern retellings go well beyond that in my view. If they took on THAT story they'd spend a ton of time during Christs temptations making the devil seem simply misunderstood.

@afellabeinaguy @DerekPederson3 Yeah. Every subversion in Empire reinforced established characters in ways that felt true and gave us more understanding of them. Last Jedi is just a creator throwing a hissy fit about the limitations of pre established lore and characters.

@endofanerajc @PrishaMosley If you're teaching your kid that the world is so grey that evil doesn't exist, that people only do wrong things for good reasons, etc then you are training your child to have suicidal empathy. They'll actually end up feeling bad when THEY are the victim.

The guy just landed a spacecraft on a comet — one of the most impressive scientific achievements in years. His reward? A public struggle session because his bowling shirt had scantily clad women on it. Helen Andrews points out the quiet cost of institutional feminization: HR departments now hunt down any maverick personality and stamp it out. We’re losing innovators we’ll never even know about, all because someone focused on the shirt instead of the comet. This is how wokeness actually works. Have you seen real excellence get punished for something trivial like this?

@ToKTeacher @thedankoe Also, people who end up writing good stuff, have read quite a lot. This overemphasis on writing as creative task while reading as just passive consumption, stems from the inaccurate, "bucket theory of the mind".

You need to write more. Without AI. Without templates. Without knowing what you're writing about. Just you, an idea, and enough time to do the difficult cognitive work necessary to reach true understanding. If you don't, your ability to think will drastically decline.

@ToKTeacher @thedankoe I don't know a single person who doesn't benefit from something like journaling in a variety of ways. And I really do suspect it comes from communicating thoughts through the written word. Which is way different from any other form of language.

@thedankoe Nonsense. Most people I know barely write anything but invoices, basic emails, etc. They’re tradies, mechanics, engineers, builders and so on. Creative problem solvers. Excellent critical and creative thinkers. But perhaps you’re focussed solely on tpot; a tiny population.

@abbythelibb_ @WassonWatch Jimmy Stewart's final performance. And his last scene in cinema is as a canine sheriff, facing a sunset passing the baton to a younger generation whos kept the dream alive. Couldn't be more perfect.

🚨 do you understand what New York City just accidentally admitted.. NYC spent $81,705 per homeless person last year.. the median American household earned $81,228.. the government spent MORE to keep someone homeless than most families earned to keep themselves housed.. that $81,705 isn't going to the homeless person.. it's going to the system around them.. shelters, administrators, case managers, contracts, overhead.. the industry that manages homelessness.. not the end of it.. if NYC gave every homeless person that money directly.. they could afford nearly 2 years of rent.. most of them wouldn't be homeless anymore.. instead the money goes to the system.. the system keeps running.. the homelessness stays.. and every year they ask for more funding to manage the problem that the funding was supposed to solve.. the homeless are worth $81,705 a year to the system.. they're worth nothing to it solved..

Here are the screen shots to the official DOD contract for the $500,000 shaped charge device that killed Charlie Kirk. It specifies a miniature EXTRA SMALL demolition charge Anti personal -EXTRA SMALL. Not only did they ask for a miniature one, they wanted a miniature one that was EXTRA SMALL anti-personel. The mic on Charlie's Chest had no problem housing a shaped charge device using PETN explosive tech. Would be nice to know who ordered this device and make them testify what it was used for. The place that made this device was blown up a week after @jonaaronbray theory went viral about an explosion under Charlie Kirks shirt. Literally one week after they saw people discover this, they blew this place up and killed everyone.

Lets summarize: You suggest a shaped charge was retrofitted in a very small device (smaller than any world use examples) with targeting precision leaving no smoke and no visible scorching trace that was able to detonate in a one and done lethal delivery and also timed precisely with some sound of a shot fired at exactly the same time, a sound which witnesses claim came from behind them. All of this you say, is the most likely explanation. It sound least likely to me.

@HistoryBoomer Only the meta is woke if you buy into the idea that it's got any kind of historical accuracy. Which some of the cast claim, but that's absurd.

I get why people find this humorous but I find it actually legit concerning how much of an entire generation is so disconnected from its own culture.

What Are your preferences on AI imagery in YT videos? A: None of any kind, for any reason B: Only subtle use - like changing day to night for illustrative purposes C: Fine with overt use, so long as it's not plausibly real (like the owl holding a dagger in the M Peterson video)
