I seriously doubt stats that Panjabis are 70% vegetarians.
I’ve been asking folks across Panjab to get a sense of how many eats meat in their acquaintances and wider circles. there are more meat eating people than leafy greens eaters. Even religious Sikhs said they counted as many meat eaters around them as vegetarians

Dairy is an animal product. It contains animal protein. It drives IGF-1. It is categorically not plant-based. "OK but they don't eat meat." They don't eat meat AND they consume very high amounts of dairy. Their height and health outcomes are consistent with high animal protein intake. If you remove the dairy from these populations and replace it with lentils, I promise you the height outcomes change. The dairy is doing the work. The absence of meat is irrelevant.

I felt it necessary to speak out in the wake of Nancy Grewal’s murder, because like her I have been very critical of Khalistani extremism in our country.
Nancy faced constant threats and harassment but she never gave up her freedom of speech, and in honour of her, we mustn’t either.
