@frogNscorpion I remember this from years ago. They both drowned. It's longer and fucked up with sound. Never jump in to save a person drowning, they will absolutely kill you.

So @WeConsentIRL posted this reel, featuring trans identifying Maguire claiming he experienced female socialisation and expectations of how to be a girl or woman. They deleted my comment almost immediately and then turned off comments entirely. It’s pretty disgraceful for a campaign on consent to not even check who they have as the face of the campaign. Craig Maguire was notoriously petitioned by Trinity SU and students to be removed as president, after he brought and effigy onto campus and plastered survivors of rape and assaults stories all over campus without their consent. His assertion that he had any expectation of how to behave is laughable, particularly the line where he claims he was taught to be quiet, as if he did not stand screaming into a loud hailer while @AnnetteMckay15 spoke about Tuam mother and baby home, calling her and other women “Nazis”. He is a man who speaks over women and calls us Nazis if we don’t consent to him in our single sex spaces with us, because he is male. So to have him talk about consent, is well and truly a kick in the teeth.

Unlike other outlets, BBC Wales did not report the offender is from Bangladesh. An important detail omitted.

As the toughest economic and fuel shortage in history looms, why is an Irish delegation in Kiev pandering to an illegitimate president?

"Depraved and Callous": Migrant Healthcare Worker Jailed for Raiding Pensioner as He Lay Dead in Rural Leitrim Home A 25-year-old Ukrainian man has been jailed for two and a half years for theft of the home of his deceased 77-year-old neighbour in rural Co Leitrim while the pensioner’s body still lay inside. Maksym Sharii, of Aughakilbrack, Drumshanbo, appeared before Judge John Aylmer at Carrick-on-Shannon Circuit Court in late March. He faced 20 charges relating to burglary and theft between 1 October and 16 November 2024. Sharii pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary and two of theft, with the remaining charges taken into consideration. The offences centred on the home of his close neighbour, Peter Robinson. Sharii stole prized guitars, some of which he later advertised for sale online, along with groceries, alcohol, and a bank debit card. He continued using the card after the man’s death to withdraw pension money, all to feed a serious gambling addiction. The total value of property taken was over €6,000. Judge Aylmer described the crimes as a “gross and callous disrespect” to the deceased, his family, and the community. He noted the aggravating factors: the burglaries occurred while Mr Robinson’s body remained in the house and persisted even after his death. The case has drawn attention locally, with some reports describing the actions as “depraved” and “callous.” No victim impact statement from Mr Robinson’s family was detailed in court reports. Sharii, originally from Ukraine, had been living in the Drumshanbo area. In mitigation, the court heard Sharii had no previous convictions, entered an early guilty plea, cooperated with gardai, and was engaging with rehabilitation programmes in custody. A probation report highlighted emerging signs of remorse and empathy. Sharii, a qualified physiotherapist, had moved to Ireland in 2024. The judge imposed concurrent sentences of three years and four months for the burglaries and two years and three months for the thefts. The final ten months were suspended, resulting in an effective term of two-and-a-half years, with credit for time already spent in custody. The case has shocked the local community in Drumshanbo, highlighting the callous nature of the offending, especially a healthcare professional with a considered high position of trust.
