Ever wonder where those purple mattresses end up when customers return them in the first 100 days? A lot of the time, they go through a company like Sharetown. Sharetown helps brands manage bulky returns by sending local reps to pick up the mattress, store it, and resell it locally instead of sending it back through a costly traditional return process. The local reps pay sharetown a fee once the item sells on local marketplace channels like Facebook and Offerup. So many players in the reverse logisitcs and re-commerce space!

When your friend says they finally bought their "dream home". The payment is $4,300/mo & they make $155,000/yr. They’re also pregnant with twins & unsure of how much full time day care will cost...

This is my next big move in my business. I’ve been working on the back end for months and it’s getting close to ready to push marketing. Compact pools for the average backyard. High quality, easy to maintain pools that are a main feature of your outdoor living but not a yard consuming headache. There are already plenty of people doing this like Texas MiniPools, Texas Tiny Pools and more. Now I am bringing it to my market soon using my years of concrete and pool building experience to create an ultra refined offering. My plan is to build these pools extremely efficiently, tracking every part and every step and task completed to continuously refine the process. In the beginning my offer will be ~60 days to be safe, with the goal to have a 30 day completion time from permit approval to finished transformation. Taking my knowledge from larger pools that I’ve build, the pools will be constructed using an insulated concrete construction with heat/chill included to give you what I think of as a three season pool, maximizing the time the pool can be enjoyed by your family. Super excited to start marketing this and getting calls from people that want to me to come upgrade their space! (drafted options sheet, 2 x rendered designs, large flagship pool i built last year)

Austin - Steel Studs@lgsguy

Finally got the stock tank pool put together just in time for the long weekend. Baby girl loves it. Had an idea while floating around in here. I’m sure it already exists. See how small my backyard is? My whole neighborhood is like this. All of north Dallas is like this. Is there a “small backyard pool guy”? Someone who only builds micro pools? I heard a few people in my hood have one. No clue how you get an excavator or any equipment back here. Is this a niche or do all pool builders take on tiny backyard projects?

The responses to this are wild. To those who think this is crazy and and that people who can afford business travel business, I offer this: When one of the wealthiest and most sophisticated people I know was considering investing in our real estate fund. He asked me tons of detailed questions over multiple calls. His last question, before he'd decide if he wanted to proceeed: “Don, do you fly business class for work?” My answer: “I don’t fly business class during the day - but if the circumstances are such that I need to take a redeye, I fly business so I can sleep - but I pay the difference out of pocket.” He nodded and smiled. “Good. Business class is an absolute waste of money.”

In the liquidation business, one of the biggest challenges is that you’re constantly dealing with new clients and building new relationships. Which means there’s always that fine line between being persistent and being annoying. And the line moves depending on how much people like you. The more likable you are, the more “persistent” you seem instead of pushy. The good news: likability is a skill that can be learned.

Before & After: The journey has begun. Acquired this 100 unit deal in October...was in awful shape. 25% occupied. Doom zone. Finally hit 50% occupancy. Goal is 90% by July 15. Mad dash!

In 2025, U.S. retailers were stuck with $740 billion in excess inventory, and ended up liquidating massive chunks at steep discounts just to free up cash and warehouse space. Closeouts aren’t just “deals.” They’re the pressure valve for the entire retail machine.

In January we sold 8,000 units of Degree deodorant. Expiration was 8 months out. We panicked and sold for $7K. Since then, offers came in around $12K. Lesson learned: if you did your research and decided to jump in, don’t panic. Things take time. Patience pays.

Retailers are getting sharper. Overstock is down. Returns are tighter. Liquidation is not like it was. At the same time, the reseller space keeps growing. Lots of newbies jumping in = People overpaying. It’s becoming a tighter market. Resellers, are you seeing the same shift?

Took a few weeks of X because I'm gearing up for what I'm afraid will be the busiest month of my life... I have 11 (ELEVEN) houses slated to start between now and the end of March. About $800,000 in revenue. Good problem to have, and very grateful... but heaven help me.

Why do people build fancy custom houses on busy streets. You spent a million building the house but couldn’t cough up an extra $100K for a quieter street.
