@tuuu28283 @8irdUp Functionally almost identical. But a more exact difference if you'd like to know... I like "to take" (infinitive) indicates future wishes or upcoming event. I like "taking" (gerund) indicates a present action sense, or one that continues regularly.

BREAKING: The gunman who opened fire near the White House on Saturday afternoon has been identified as 21-year-old Nasire Best of Maryland.
