@GreenVelvet_ This is true, most don't realize. The sound guy should be able to create a volume gradient throughout the night that doesn't neuter anyone but still gives the headline act a little extra oomph. I have also been asked to hi pass openers to 60hz before, which affects sound way more

I don't think most fans know that the sound is controlled by sound guys and not the djs. A lot of djs have it in their contracts that their sound has to be louder than other acts. I've never done it but it's a standard now

Czech automaker Škoda created first bicycle bell to penetrate noice-cancelling headphones.
They tested 100s of headphones and found a low frequency (750 to 780 Hz) that anti-noise algos can’t suppress.
Bell is mechanical and uses an irregular hammer mechanism.

@chrislake Touring DJs of a certain level (of PA not fame) will 100% of the time benefit from a proper sound tech, who knows their music and genre properly, A house guy may just turn the mixer feed up until its 'loud enough' and be done for the night. That leaves so much tuning on the table

@LevityMusic @phydra_ Feel like 'edit-core' has gotten people used to the super high tempo mixing, then that becomes the expectation regardless. It's harder to keep that mixing pace with 'real' djing than it is with build/drop switch up edits. Neither is more or less legit than the other btw
