Just done bedtime & turned on the TV to watch the Saints game and wow, blimey.
Initial thoughts:
A) What on earth went on in that first half?!
B) I’m guessing Saints took last week personally?!

@neilfissler I think 2 things are different now:
1. So many teams play with intent to score tries now
2. The skill levels 1-15 are probably as high as they've ever been
Put those things together = points

Anyone else miss the days of low scoring games and teams having to earn tries. Seems too much like Rugby League but with a couple of extra players.

@blue_labour It’s bad enough changing PMs mid parliament as the Tories did on a number of occasions but trying to manufacture a situation where a PM can be parachuted in from outside of Parliament is mildly ridiculous

Northampton fans; Leicester needed the win. You didn't. Still a shock but when the mindset is spot on as it was for the Tigers and missing as it was for Saints, these scorelines happen.

VAR has many critics, and the implementation is undeniably frustrating (time etc), but credit where it’s due … it ensured proper sanctions for dangerous challenges by Ryan Christie on Timothy Castagne and Joachim Andersen on Adrien Truffert. Both yellows upgraded after review.

Zack Polanski is in the mire on other things but he has a point about the problem with Ed Balls co-presenting ITV's breakfast telly - particularly with elections imminent. I pointed that out on air to Balls a couple of years ago and was binned. Still true, though.
