I went to spend a few weeks’ holiday at my uncle’s place, who owns a layer poultry farm. My plan was simple😌rest, chop life, and enjoy myself. 😂 But immediately I got there and discovered the man was managing over 2,000+ layer birds, I just smiled and said to myself…

modern society was not built by laws, governments or technology alone, but mainly by an invisible system that organizes everything around a single element: money.
money functions as the universal language of exchange. it defines priorities, directs work, determines access, and shapes collective behavior. on a large scale, it's not just a means of purchase, but a mechanism for social coordination that connects production, consumption and power.
from the moment economies became monetized, practically every relationship became influenced by it. what is built, what is researched, what is produced and even what is ignored depends on the logic of financial incentive. businesses are born because there's a demand for profit. technologies advance because there is economic return. countries grow or stagnate in accordance with efficiency in capital generation and distribution.
in practice, money does not just circulate within modern society, it structures society itself. it defines where people live, what kind of education they access, what opportunities they see and even the pace of everyday life. time is often sold in exchange of wages. attention is allocated in markets. human energy is converted into measurable productivity.
this structure creates a system where almost everything can be translated into economic value. work becomes income. income becomes consumption. consumption feeds production. and this cycle sustains the ongoing functioning of contemporary civilization.
but the deepest point is not just technical functioning, but psychological influence. money shapes perception of success, generates constant comparisons, and redefines what is considered stability, freedom or failure. it is not neutral in social practice, because it directs individual and collective choices all the time.
understanding this changes how you see the world. it's not just about looking for money, but understanding how it organizes entire systems around it.
