@Stsantek I vote to keep the tories out. I don't agree with every Labour policy. I don't profit from them. The alternative is reform or the tories. I'd be better off. It's easy to vote green when someone else is visiting a foodbank.

I find this kind of comment so strange? Some lefties would rather see people join the Tories than identify as socialists (and dedicate their lives and obvious talent to spreading its message). The aim then is not to spread socialist values and build solidarity, but to treat socialism as a valuable brand and monopolize it.

@Layo_FH We were told 35 years ago the state pension wouldn't be enough to live on when we retired. Some got personal pensions. The others will be in for a shock. Too many people retire when they can't afford to.

Lots of millennials think this and that’s the issue. But the non means tested state pension, triple locked, given to people who are economically inactive for 15/20 years, all paid for by today’s tax payers, is nearly unsustainable now. As the population pyramid continues to invert, with more and more retirees, propped up by a shrinking base of workers, the system will eventually collapse. I know I’m paying the pensions of Sharon & Trevor as they go on their cruises round the Med, knowing I’ll likely never enjoy a retirement like them.

@MonkEmma Well Labour went out of their way to intentionally shaft parents (and kids) who use private schools so this is entirely understandable backlash to a toxic and spiteful policy. It will continue to backfire on them badly.

@jemmaforte @UKLabour 1-2% shouldn't affect most businesses. They just cap a pay rise like every other business. If they're affected by the lower limit rising, they were playing the game to avoid tax. If it's minimum wage changes, they don't have a business because they're subsidised by UC.
