@DigitalWolfGun I knew something wasn't right about this mainly because a couple of days ago I was playing Gears Of War Reloaded in local split screen coop & I didn't need to have PS+ what so ever.

We incorrectly stated that PlayStation Plus is required for local co-op splitscreen play. Local splitscreen co-op requires a PlayStation account for each player but does not require a PlayStation Plus account.

Imagine setting up a Microsoft account, linking it to PlayStation, sorting out a PS Plus subscription… then doing it all again for player two so you can play couch co-op. And FINALLY after all that effort… you play a Halo game. Sounds like pure torture.

@Hugus170403 It's Sony's platform and subscription service. All I will say is if this is on Microsoft/Halo Studios then Sony should make that known.
But until they do I don't see how Sony can't do anything here. It's not like the money they will make from PS Plus is going to Xbox.

Sony needs to change this because what are we doing here? It's local co-op split screen. Pretty much no games on PS5 do this. Something that should be seen as a massive win for PS (Halo coming to PS5) is going to quickly turn into a negative. There should be 0 bad PR here.

@HydraD0minatus Something tells me it isn't entirely Sony/PlayStation's decision cause if it was how comes games like It Takes Two, Split Fiction, Borderlands 4 etc don't require it.
