The Einstein Test doesn't feel too far away. AI isn't just mimicking human knowledge. It's obvious when you look at AlphaZero. **By creating its own dataset through self-play (not human moves!)** AlphaZero went from: - Breakfast time: Playing chess randomly - Lunch time: Competing with Demis - Dinner time: Better than the world champion (and interesting new moves) Here’s Demis Hassabis explaining it in our HUGE* Conversation and why we need this in new models:
Rohan Paul@rohanpaul_ai

Demis Hassabis’s “Einstein test” for defining AGI: Train a model on all human knowledge but cut it off at 1911, then see if it can independently discover general relativity (as Einstein did by 1915); if yes, it’s AGI.
