Israel is running a network of torture camps for Palestinians. Our reports, Welcome to Hell and Hell on Earth, extensively documented a reality of extreme violence, starvation, and torture. Now, in a major @nytimes investigation, journalist @NickKristof published terrible testimonies concerning sexual violence and the use of sodomy as a tool of interrogation and humiliation by Israeli forces. Palestinian prisoners are subjected to severe violence, deliberate humiliation, starvation, sleep deprivation, denial of medical care, and abuse in every facility where they are held. These abusive practices are fully backed by the political leadership, which openly boasts about the harsh prison conditions. Some inmates are subjected to severe sexual assaults. At least 88 Palestinians have died in Israeli detention facilities since October 2023 as a result of inhumane conditions, violence, starvation, and the denial of medical treatment. Despite the extensive evidence, media investigations, and reports issued by Israeli and international organizations documenting torture in Israeli prisons, the international community continues to stand by and allow Israel to commit crimes against the Palestinian people. “In wrenching interviews, Palestinians have recounted to me a pattern of widespread Israeli sexual violence against men, women and even children,” our columnist Nicholas Kristof writes. nyti.ms/4ue9mtV

The Prime Minister says his government has got "the big political decisions right". Let's go through them. The government chose to cut welfare so it could spend even more on weapons and war. The government chose to demonise the sick and disabled. The government chose to keep

What does terrorism mean to you? If it’s no double-tap killings of paramedics, journalists, and today a 12 year old girl, then what is it? Westerners, where is your humanity? Cameraman: @aliezzedine7

I've added it to my list. There's a lot of stuff there. (Even if it is partisan, it doesn't invalidate it.) I don't particularly enjoy being argumentative either. Let's call it here. I appreciate you being so polite with me. I want to see wars end, not keep going. I wish you well, and hope you have a lovely day. I'm sorry if I come across as opposed to your beliefs, I just want to see wars end, and I don't like the deaths of anyone, children, women or men. We should be better than this as a species. Take care.

I think the people most responsible for this endless bloodshed are the ones who fuel hate and dehumanisation on both sides, whether it happens to be Hamas glorifying martyrdom and October 7, or anyone painting all Israelis as monsters deserving it. You can either fuel the fire or try to put an end to it.

@AEire89 @zoloftpurgatory Thanks for sharing the site with me. Blaming every Israeli for war though is the same collective guilt logic that terrorists love. As an ex-Sufi Muslim not involved in any Islamic violence or terror attacks in the UK, am I somehow responsible for them?

No, what's not acceptable to me is condemning an entire nation of people. ^^ You're dancing around the subject. If I tried to say that all Palestinians were monsters because of Hamas, (which is rightly seen as a terrorist organisation in the UK) I'd be just as bad as you're behaving sirrah.

@chanwalrus @zoloftpurgatory If you want to see the terrorism, see the list of dead children here. If any other nation kills a handful of people on their soil it is terrorism but Israel has an exemption for 10s of thousands. This is Gaza alone, add Lebanon and Syria too. watermeloncrimes.com/victims

@chanwalrus @zoloftpurgatory 10s thousands of children killed would disagree with that. Women and children in tents, forced displacement. That's acceptable to you and doesn't meet the description of terrorism because they could do more if they wanted? I didn't grow up hating, I just saw cities leveled

@chanwalrus @zoloftpurgatory What would you call a country indiscriminately bombing civilian areas of foreign countries? He still never said Jewish people are terrorists, he said the Israelis are. I thought Israel was supposed to be a democracy of multiple religions? I'm sure many are Christian terrorists

@chanwalrus @zoloftpurgatory He said Israeli people not Jewish people. Conflating the two as the same is the issue

I disagree. I was raised as a Sufi Muslim and I've been friends with some Jewish people who have known this for years. My friend Josh I've worked with so many times, we supported each other's businesses, and we fought together in games for years. Hating for hate's sake only leads to destruction. Sometimes people amplify the wrong messages. Eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

Smaller than the Irish county of Galway, the occupied West Bank has over 900 military checkpoints, barriers and roadblocks. Illegal settlers steal the land, live under Israeli law and are protected by the @IDF. Palestinians live under military law. What I am witnessing here is shocking. #apartheid

The Metropolitan Police had a 240-page war crimes dossier on 10 British nationals who fought with the IDF in Gaza. It included evidence of killings, forced transfers and torture. The Met chose not to investigate. That is not justice asleep. That is British impunity wide awake.
