Tatsächlich hat sich das Deutsche Reich in jenen Tagen eine Reihe von groben Grenzverletzungen durch Polen gefallen lassen!☝️ Im Bericht der polnischen Zeitung Ilustrowany Kurjer vom 7. August 1939 waren die provokativen polnischen Übergriffe und Grenzverletzungen, die sich Wochen vor Kriegsausbruch ereigneten, ALLER WELT vor Augen geführt worden. Einige polnische Übergriffe beginnend mit dem 25. August 1939: Beschuß zweier über die Ostsee fliegender deutscher  Verkehrsmaschinen durch  polnische Batterien von der  Halbinsel Hela. Nach den  Erinnerungen des  Chefdolmetschers Schmidt  wurden allerdings mehrfach  deutsche Maschinen  beschossen, so daß alle  Flugzeuge weit auf die Ostsee  auswichen und die deutsche  Delegation nach Moskau unter  Jagdschutz fliegen mußte. 25. August: Nach Bekanntwerden des sogenannten "Hitler-Stalin-Paktes" umgehender Abschluß  eines englisch-polnischen Beistandspaktes. Dieser  Beistandspakt galt ebenso wie  die britische Garantie vom 30.03.1939 selbst bei einem Angriff  Polens auf Deutschland! Meldung der Staatspolizeistelle  Elbing: In der Nacht vom 25. zum 26. August zerstörten aus Polen  eingedrungene Brandstifter  die an der Grenze gelegene  Försterei Dietrichswalde,  Kreis Marienwerder, vollständig. Staatspolizeistelle Elbing: In der Nacht vom 25. auf den 26.08.  wurde das Wärterhaus 34 an der Strecke Deutsch-Eylau-Alt-Eiche-Soldau durch eine Bombe in  Schutt und Asche gelegt. Meldung des Oberfinanzpräsidenten Ostpreußen: In der Nacht  vom 25. zum 26. August wurden die auf deutschem Gebiet  gelegenen Teile der  Straßenbrücke und der  Eisenbahnbrücke Zandersfelde-Neuliebenau von polnischem  Militär gesprengt und völlig  zerstört. 26. August: Hauptzollamt  Lauenburg, Hauptzollamt Meseritz: Schüsse über die  Grenze auf fliehende  Volksdeutsche. 27. August: Staatspolizeidienststelle Elbing:  Eisenbahnhaltestelle und Sägewerk Alt-Eiche  überfallen. Vordringen einer  Gruppe polnischer Soldaten auf  das Reichsgebiet, Beschießung  deutscher Grenzwacht-Offiziere sowie eines Wehrmachtpostens und mehrerer Zollbeamter. 28. August: Staatspolizeidienststelle Elbing, Vordringen polnischerSoldaten auf deutsches  Reichsgebiet, deutsche Feldwachen durch reguläres  polnisches Militär angegriffen.  Schießen über die Grenze auf deutsche Zollbeamte mit Maschinengewehrfeuer. 29. August: Staatspolizeidienststelle Elbing, Köslin, Breslau, Hauptzollamt Beuthen und Gleiwitz: Vordringen polnischer Soldaten auf das Reichsgebiet, Feuerüberfall auf deutsches Zollhaus, Beschießung deutscher Zollbeamter, polnische Maschinengewehre in Stellung auf das Reichsgebiet. 30. August: Polen unterbricht den Zugverkehr zwischen dem Reich und Ostpreußen und beschließt die Generalmobilmachung; seine Armeen waren bereits an den Grenzen aufmarschiert. Staatspolizeidienststelle Breslau, Oberfinanzpräsident Troppau: Bauer bei der Feldarbeit beschossen, Flugzeug über deutschem Gebiet durch Flakartillerie beschossen. 31. August: Polen sprengt die Dirschauer Weichselbrücke und unterbindet damit die Landverbindung nach Ostpreußen. Staatspolizeidienststelle Elbing, Zollbezirkskommissar Deutsch-Eylau, Staatspolizeidienststelle Liegnitz: Vier Zollgehöfte und eine Streife der Grenzwacht von polnischem Militär angegriffen und beschossen; ein deutscher Zollbeamter während seines Dienstganges erschossen, ein weiterer schwer verletzt.

On this day 81 years ago, after five long years of occupation, it was a day of joy as our allies, the British, marched through the streets to mark Norway’s liberation.

One of the many great days in our wonderful history. Which today’s young folk know nothing about. Watch and be proud. We liberated a great ally (still is) from the greatest evil.

@admcollingwood The appeasement policy got a bad rep because the people who demanded it's reversal got just what they wanted; only what they wanted ended up being a catastrophe, and Chamberlain died shortly after, leaving Churchill and the anti-appeasers to write the history.

Neville Chamberlain and Appeasement have got bad reputations over the years. Well, recent Yookay governments have a succeeded in doing the opposite: Chamberlain appeased while building up the RAF and Royal Navy; this lot incite conflict while running them down. Congrats!

The irony is that Mosley and much of the post-WWII European far-right embraced the idea of a united Europe in the 1950s-1960s. The idea was for a federation of European countries that would keep the Americans out, the communists down, and all Africa as a European milch cow.
