Clubs left a meeting with the AFL today fully expecting the League to soon introduce an extra list spot dedicated for Indigenous players. In what form is still TBC - likely scenario discussed is essentially a third Cat B rookie spot clubs can use if they choose @7NewsMelbourne

@TimmySquire @cleary_mitch @7NewsMelbourne You’ve decided to focus on the ‘star’ word as opposed to the actual point. The point being, who cares, the Irishman and American have been scouted and have made it without a designated spot. Why can’t the indigenous player as well?

This kid comes along, absolute star, can’t put him in the new third spot because he’s isn’t indigenous. If you’re good enough you’ll make it regardless of your bloodline. Don’t need certain spots reserved.

@7AFL I like the idea of clubs owning games to promote metal health rather than a single round. Mental health is serious and should be discussed often. One round of the year and then forgetting about it, doesn't sit right with me. Multiple games throughout the year seems better.
