@COSullivanTD Asian hornets are a huge threat to our native pollinators. What about the threat to pollinators + the rest of our wildlife by the continued destruction of habitats by industrial/intensive farming? Why isn’t this treated with the same urgency by the Government? #BiodiversityCrisis

Big shout out to this amazing crew of NPWS rangers who successfully located the Asian Hornet nest in Cork this week. The speed and intensity with which they responded means the risk of further nests establishing in Ireland has been reduced significantly. Great teamwork!!

Today, the Kilkenny and Dublin camogie players wore shorts in protest. This isn’t about fashion. It’s not about tradition. It’s about athletes being forced to sacrifice comfort, performance and even dignity, for an outdated rule written without them in mind.

@officialgaa @OfficialCorkGAA Please consider your neighbours when installing floodlights and use downlights. The light pollution in our part of West Cork is appalling. Energy is being wasted. Affecting the wellbeing of nocturnal creatures + those of us who like to see the stars.

@AHRDesigns @BirdWatchIE @BioDataCentre Heya Anne, ye we will give them their space. It’s a shed away from the main yard that we use for storage. Just happened to be down there this evening. They are using a kestrel box we have down there so we will put up an Owl box we have and hopefully they will make use of it.

Rainwater pouring off the fields. Taking top soil and slurry with it. Polluting streams and rivers, damaging roads, causing flooding downstream. This is where hedgerows should be allowed to grow, trees should be planted. Allow wet land and flood plains to do their job. #WestCork
