#ThrowbackThursday to an @EconomicTimes/ @TimesNetwork event where @debjani_ghosh_ gave her usual thoughtful and poised answer to Ayesha Faridi Vengsarkar on what AI really is. Then @C_P_Gurnani picked up the mic—and out of the blue, started talking about me and my book The Tech Whisperer, and how it made AI come alive for him! Chapter 13 of The Tech Whisperer was all about AI—written by an AI. We hacked it together with @MahurkarAnand and the brilliant team at @fsci, using their AI and #NaturalLanguageProcessing platform. @PenguinIndia even printed that chapter in green so it would stand out instantly. Just before it, Chapter 12 covered AI too—but that one was written by a human: me. It took 7 months to create, and this was before #ChatGPT and the whole #GenerativeAI wave. A human and an AI co-authoring a published book—it actually happened. Fast forward to now—our next book "Winning With AI: Your Guide to AI Literacy", co-authored with @anujmagazine and published by @juggernautbooks, is out now. It’s the first book focused entirely on #AILiteracy. That says a lot about how much has changed in just two years. As feared, and expected, AI is beginning to nibble away at jobs. As not entirely expected, though, most of these are entry level, denying first jobbers a foot in the corporate doors. 50% of all entry level white collar jobs will disappear in up to 5 years, says one AI grandee. Another proclaims that “the bottom rung of the job ladder breaking”. What is happening, and more importantly, what should young people do in this Age of AI. For most of us, English isn't our first language. For business, we speak English. For personal lives, we think and converse daily in our native tongues. When it comes to learning technical concepts, frameworks, or complex business topics, we default to English, which is an accepted norm. But what if we leveraged our native language strengths to learn concepts more effectively? We did this experiment @AIBeyondAI. Just tried a new workflow: - Generate an AI podcast explaining the "Attention is All You Need" paper in native language. - then listened to the same content in English. The results and retention was surprisingly effective - concepts clicked differently when first processed in our native language. What’s my next book is about? It is about AI, of course. I’m genuinely excited about it, just as so many of us are about what AI can do. But at the same time, I’m also a bit apprehensive.
