يسعدني الإعلان عن حصول المركز الوطني للأرصاد في الإمارات @ncmuae على جائزة "أفضل حالة استخدام مؤثر" ضمن القمة العالمية للذكاء الاصطناعي من أجل الخير @AIforGood، التي ينظمها الاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات @ITU في جنيف. وتُعد هذه القمة المنصة الأممية الرائدة لتحديد التطبيقات العملية للذكاء الاصطناعي التي تسهم في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة، وتجمع خبراء التكنولوجيا وصناع السياسات والباحثين من مختلف أنحاء العالم. وحصل المركز على هذا التقدير عن عمله في تحسين دقة صور الأقمار الاصطناعية من خلال تقنية الاستبانة الفائقة بين مستشعرات VIIRS على الأقمار المدارية المنخفضة ومستشعرات SEVIRI على الأقمار المستقرة، وذلك ضمن فئة الحوسبة الفضائية. ويعكس هذا الإنجاز التزام دولة الإمارات المتواصل بالاستثمار في التقنيات المتقدمة التي تخدم أهدافاً عالمية. إن رؤية القيادة الرشيدة لتمكين الدولة كمركز للذكاء الاصطناعي التطبيقي وعلوم الفضاء هي ما يتيح تحقيق هذا النوع من العمل. ويعزز تحسين دقة صور الأقمار الاصطناعية بشكل مباشر دقة التنبؤات الجوية، ومنظومات الإنذار المبكر، وصنع القرار لحماية المجتمعات المعرضة للظواهر الجوية الحادة. وهذا أمر يهم الجميع، في كل مكان. تهانيّ لفريق المركز الوطني للأرصاد على هذا العمل المتميز. وشكر خاص للاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات ومنصة الذكاء الاصطناعي من أجل الخير على تسليط الضوء على تطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي التي تخدم الناس.
