The problem with talking about Elden Ring on here is that if you don't over-clarify everything like you're talking to a toddler you'll get people who can't distinguish between open-world encounters and Margit, the Fell Omen in discussing how Torrent makes you engage w the world

@Slumdog_Milly @inkblotPrincess Theres a valid complain/criticsm on the base late game relying a lot more on variations of enemies, but to say that this is an issue through the entirety of the game? Simply don't get it.

@ExoGhost @Slumdog_Milly @inkblotPrincess I precisely refered to this on my past tweet so I feel like this is redudant. While enemies like the Farum Azula beast can be seen earlier in the game, the scarcity and distance between encounters is hardly argument to dismiss their focus on the later area as new to the player.

@Slumdog_Milly @inkblotPrincess With also almost every area either presenting you with new enemies or making the focus on previously rare encounters. It's silly to complain about a group of enemies repeating when the game isn't holding back on presenting you with new ones right alongside

@inkblotPrincess No dude fighting the same 3 enemies (small guy, normal guy, feather hat guy) for the majority of the game is really cool you're supposed to be engaging with them and leveling off their 10 soul drops and their gear that is all recolors and also bad

@inkblotPrincess I'll just assume that "you control the buttoms you press" isn't exactly a welcomed concept on here, so it's at least ironic that is essentially what's being used as a pass for the other games in contrast to ER.

@inkblotPrincess Perhap because you are trying to argue about an aspect of the games that exist on functionally every single one of them. You can say that Torrent or certain section teaches to avoid clearing out enemies, but that's just what many people did and do on previous games.

@Invinium Radahn remains unfathomable on a wicked yet the most "faithful" interpretation on the figure of the hero. An icon without face or motivation, free for everyone to pick for their cause. When the legend surpass both person and character until it becomes unrecognizable.

You can go over everything and think "shit, all options sound valid to an extent" its a really well done balance where the scale doesn't tip too hard on one side over the other except its balancing multiple possibilities.

In all of Fromsoft's attempts in making ambiguous lore points to stir up controversy & debates. None come close to the vow of the promised consort. When you look at the details everything is so meticulously shown with a level of restraint to make any conclusion seem reasonable.

@Invinium @Visuljkoo Whereas in DS3, sticking to the singular curated path and the progress it granted me resulted on being underwhelmed. And again, I'm talking on "personal" terms. I can't talk about the experience of players as a whole, and ultimately balance is pretty subjective

@Invinium @Visuljkoo But it's by the lack of one singular path of progression that I was aware about the game giving me full agency on the difficulty and to make concious choices about it. It feels natural to the game's structure, and almost what justifies it.

@Visuljkoo @Invinium I focus on DS3 because what I already said: without the intent on purposefully minmax and build for it, DS3 feels easy in comparison to ER, regardless of any broken build you coul potentially make on the later, wich is not the same conversation.

@AIiasNobody @Invinium Ds2 bosses are extremely squishy, ER bosses can easily be turned into mush, so I really don’t know why people only focus on ds3 every time In ds2 specifically, you can get a +10 weapon 20-30 mins into the game. As if the game already wasn’t easy enough

@RobinPoedev You have a point on how other games implied size, but by the same principle you are able to believe said worlds, it's only natural for others to be frustrated about areas like Anor Londo or Irithyll not feeling like actual cities to explore.

@RobinPoedev You are fundamentally missing on the premise of ER views not only being a surprise by subject of art direction, but the shock factor tied to the realization of having another expansive area to explore. In very similar fashion to seeing the map grow bigger.
