I genuinely don’t understand the concept of having a full-time nanny in middle class or upper middle class families. The mother goes to work, and the child ends up spending most of the day with the nanny. So I’m genuinely trying to understand the thought process behind it. Is it purely financial? Like: Nanny salary = ₹20–30K Mother’s income = ₹1L+ So financially it still makes sense? Or has society somewhere started undervaluing being a full-time homemaker and mother? If a mother is a housewife and keeps a nanny/helper for support, I completely understand that. But leaving a very young child with a nanny for most of the day while both parents are working — I’m genuinely curious how parents think about it emotionally and practically. Not judging anyone at all — genuinely trying to understand different perspectives.
