ما همه راه‌ها رو نرفتیم. حتی به طور گسترده از کسایی که داشتن راهی رو می‌رفتن حمایت نکردیم. همه راه‌ها یعنی به عنوان مثال اعتصابات گسترده و حمایت مردم، یعنی استعفاهای دسته‌جمعی، یعنی پر و بال دادن به تشکل‌های صنفی و اعتراضاتشون، یعنی پیوستن به تحریم‌ها. اغلب گروه کوچکی و گاهی حتی فردی راهی رو رفته و هزینه‌های بسیار سنگینی داده. اینکه این راه‌ها چقدر کارساز می‌بودن یا نه مساله‌ی دیگه‌ایه. اما ادعای رفتن همه راه‌ها اشتباهه.

It actually scares me that this needs to be said, but I guess it does becuase of the cavalier way I hear my fellow Americans and people in the West talk about war as some spectator sport. Remember that Iranians, Palestinians, Iraqis love and cherish their children just as much as you do. And when they bury the innocent, their grief is not less than yours. When a child—an infant—is killed as a result of injustice or callousness, as "collateral damage," the rage they feel is no less than what you would feel. The word that comes percolating a lot out of Iran regime media and other channels is entegham. It is a resonant word that means revenge. And I fear that the force of the righteous vengeance unleashed by this war among a certain segment of Iranians—those who will do the fighting and dying and killing —is not going to fade anytime soon.

This statement strongly implies that members of Congress were informed by the administration today that ground operations are all but declared on Iranian territory. Let me categorically state: there is nothing of strategic significance such a tiny force of a few thousand marines and airborne troops could accomplish. It will not open the Straits. It will not compel the Iranian gov to collapse or surrender. Sending these men into combat on a militarily unattainable mission is reprehensible. If the president orders this operation, all the casualties that result will be an egregious and flagrant sacrifice of their lives to satisfy one man’s pride and arrogance, but in no way, shape or form, will they have died defending their country. If I were a family member of any of these troops and my loved one was sent to death for the vanity of one man, I would be outraged. As it turns out, I am outraged anyway, and all Americans should be if the lives of our service members are held in such content by our political leadership.

بچه‌ها یه سوال، ماهایی که به هر دلیلی زندگی توی ایران رو انتخاب نکردیم و مهاجرت کردیم، سال‌هایی که دور بودیم، چیزی اونجا نساختیم، تغییری مستقیم ایجاد نکردیم. بعضی‌هامون حتی بیشتر از نصف عمرمون رو بیرون از ایران گذروندیم، و شاید حتی اگر حکومت هم عوض بشه، باز مطمئن نباشیم که برگردیم. واقعیت اینه که ما مثل اون‌ها هزینه‌ای نمی‌دیم، ریسکی که اونا هر روز باهاش زندگی می‌کنن رو تجربه نمی‌کنیم. با این حساب، چطور می‌تونیم از آدم‌هایی که هنوز اونجا هستن، انتظار داشته باشیم کارهایی رو انجام بدن که خودمون انجام ندادیم؟
